I need to find a website that has day by day reports of past weather history for the U.S. If anyone knows of such a website I would greatly apprieciate it. Thank you.
This site might be useful. What sort of information were you seeking specifically? And how far back?
I think that the NCDC is going to ask you to pay for a lot of the data.
However, their data does come with some nice official government seal of approval.
This site has data stretching back to 1994. I doubt you’ll find anything better on the web for free anywhere.
For recent (48 hours) free information, go to the home page of the National Weather Service/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Click the Local hyperlink under Forecasts on the left-hand sidebar.
(Or simply go to http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ without bothering to look at the home page.)
On the national weather map, click on the desired city that appears on the map. This provides a regional map of the area served by that city’s weather service office.
On the regional page, click on the desired city or county.
On the right-hand side of that page, below a series of colored bars indicating Humidity, Wind Speed, Barometer, Dewpoint, and Visibility is a hyperlink named 2 Day History.
Clicking on that link provides the Date, Time (est), Wind (mph), Visibility (mi.), Weather Sky Conditions, Temperature (ºF), Pressure, and Precipitation for each of the previous 24 hours (most recent first).
(I assume that you can link to one or more of the intermediate pages, but the route I laid out will walk anyone in the states through to their destination.)
Thank you, Those were just what we needed.
