The dock that he dropped the tools off of was off of a beach - well out in the ‘open’ - the dock near the cabin was well secluded and surrounded by greenery.
You may be right – maybe the place is being set up as Doake’s final killing ground. I was thinking that there might be too much to link the cabin to Dexter, though. Like the old man, who is I guess now in the lake near the cabin. I’m sure his body would be found, and somewhere in the records is a among him and Dexter and the Ice Truck killer. Even if he’snot found, if he owns the place his name and record will come out.
I’m also amazed at Dexter’s confidence that his frame will hold up. I’m sure it could for a few of the murders, but there are 40-50 of them. Surely Doakes would have an alibi that would stand up for a few of them, maybe a lot. Who know, maybe he was running aound the world doing special ops stuff while Dexter was doing his mundane local killing. I would think it could easily end up with the realization among some of the cops that Doakes wasn’t the ONLY Butcher.
The time frame of the Dexter’s kills is a little murky. But if he started out as a teenager, and he’s what, 30-ish?, so 10-15 years of killing seems in the ballpark.
Oh yeah, I agree, different dock far away. The dock near the cabin has the old man on the bottom.
Also just remembered, they had video footage of Doakes buying gas - I think on the way to the cabin - this will be what leads the forces that direction.
