I think Arthur said he was 10 at the time, which means about 40-50 years. The killings are supposed to have started 30 years ago, as far as anyone knows.
Nice twist for the 4th victim and I am glad the kid is OK. I guess Dexter just called the cops but did not take credit for finding him.
You have to wonder if Christine will spill the beans to cut a deal for herself and that Trinity knew that so he was going to kill her.
Based on what we learned in the parking garage scene, I don’t think she’ll cut a deal. She’s been killing people all over Miami just to keep the heat off him, I can’t see her trying to get out of it if there’s anyway she can get him out of trouble, even a little. She’s got some serious daddy issues going on.
Is next week the finale?
Two more episodes.
The only person Christine killed was Lundy, and unless they get more evidence, she could get off. Yeah, she was first at the crime scene – can’t she say that’s how she knew Deb was facing Lundy? Unless Deb and Lundy had been moved when she got there – I don’t remember if they were or not. I don’t think they can absolutely nail Christine without nailing Arthur. He’s her motive. No jury’s gonna believe a reporter killed someone just to get a story.
But she’s panicky and if daddy doesn’t manage to kill her first, she might confess. I can see Arthur wanting to visit her in jail, and Dexter won’t be able to stop him without blowing his cover.
These guys aren’t very good detectives, but I guess that’s not what the show is about. Battista should have wondered earlier about Christine being on the scene so soon after the shootings (hair and makeup done) and she should have been questioned. And they should have figured out the height of the shooter first thing. They’re not very methodical.
Yeah, I was thinking she said she had been killing people all over town (the Vacation Killer). Did she say that the heat was off because they were tied up with the Vacation Killer?
The only argument I have here is that Batista probably had no idea where she lived. Deb, on the other hand, probably does.
Oh, and the height thing, I’m gonna guess they don’t normally check for the ‘height of the shooter’ since, as was discussed earlier, there really isn’t a good way to tell. Yeah, the trajectory was level and blah blah blah the shooter was 5’5’’, but for some reason, according to Deb and Vince killers only shoot with their hand in, what, one of three places and you’re always on level ground with your victim. All Vince can tell you is the height of the gun (and even that’s assuming the shooter is close enough for gravity not to have much of an effect).
She said she made it look like the other string of killings that was going on to cover it up.
As far as we know, Deb & Lundy’s shootings are the only ones shes responsible for.
She had just figured out the Trinity connection relatively recently, and was apparently a witness to a bathtub murder when she was 5. She must be a true daughter from Arthur’s first wife.
And then is next season set to be the last?
Things are starting to fall apart for ol’ Dex. Most recently, that kid seeing him leave the campsite in the middle of the night.
What an episode! Trinity is off his rocker and his game!
What now? The cycle had been disturbed!
Also, a Nitpick here: Arthur called “Kyle” to say he didn’t like being followed.
Don’t you think that Arthur would have googled the phone to se there is no Kyle Butler, and that the phone belongs to either Dexter Morgan or Miami Metro?
Aurthur had no reason whatsoever to suspect that Kyle is anything other then a friend in need of some guidance.
Also, I assume the phone would be unlisted.
It should be easy to find out who is related to Christine so they probably don’t need her to flip on her dad.
You just knew Trinity was going to kill Christine after cementing poor Scotty and then it’s MMH to the rescue! Now Christine is in custody but still loyal to Daddy T. Going to be a very interesting end of the season.
Preview: What the crap man? Why oh why is Trinity in MMH!? I suppose once he figures out that Kyle is Dexter he’ll have more leverage but man alive, that’s still ballsy.
I don’t think Jonah is going to escape unscathed. He might not die but he’s at least going to get an ass-kicking.
I hope you’re right LVBoPeep, that would be a big slice of Creepy-Awesome.
So many things going on, in such rapid succession…and yet they are hinting at a big “twist” in the final episode?! How much more twisted can it get?
Regarding question about next season being the last one - I haven’t read that; is there a link? I am just kind of surprised, seeing as how the first episode of Dexter this season was a ratings blockbuster for Showtime and I can’t imagine them ending the series unless absolutely necessary.
Even though they stopped filming scripts from the book after season one, I think the stories have gotten better every year since and hope this show lasts many more seasons.
The main actors are signed for year 5 but they have not said that is the last season.
I wish they could find another way to write Rita’s character. ::whining:: Dexter, can you come home? Baby has a fever.::whining Give him a baby aspirin and shut the fuck up!
I realize the writers do that just to put more pressure on Dexter, but it’s making me really hate the character. Yeah, taking care of a home and children is work, but I had four kids and a full-time job and an alcoholic uninvolved husband, and I never whined like she does.
That stupid whiny voice doesn’t help.
Neither does lying about having a husband before Paul, or kissing Elliott (who STAYED?? after that!?) in the kitchen.
The way I see it, Jonah is going to have to somehow be involved in his father’s death. I have a theory:
Christine implicates her father because she can’t keep her trap shut, they find out who he is and search for him. Jonah confronts Arthur, and asks why the cops are after him. Arthur kills Jonah, Dexter shows up, kills Arthur and makes it look like a Murder-Suicide.
While it looks like there’s going to be a nice cat and mouse thing in the next episode, it seems like in real terms that in the next episode, Arthur should have the entire police force after him and his face plastered on every TV in town. They’re fairly certain Trinity is a teacher, they know his age, and they know he’s related to Christine Hill. At the same time as going to pick her up, they should already have had cars headed to Arthur’s house.
But Christine isn’t using her father’s name, is she? I couldn’t make out the name on the newspaper byline, but it wasn’t Hill.
Would that mean they’d need to see her birth certificate?
It’s too bad Dexter didn’t have time to plant a really good clue on the little boy. Like a note in his pocket telling the cops who kidnapped him.
Christine’s last name is Hill according to IMDB and from the close up of the newspaper article we saw.
I don’t think Dexter cares to give Trinity up to the authorities. He wants to kill him all by his lonesome. The previews to next week’s episode were really well done, i’m excited thinking up all the possibilities.
