As per the OP, I would love to come, but am not sure that I can this weekend. I’ll work on it, though. And, as Ringo pointed out, Hurricane Isadore may have something to say on the topic. Either pot luck or a restaurant works for me. I’d offer to bring the 'scream, but that’s prolly not a good idea since I’d be coming from San Antone. I’m open to suggestions.
About what food to bring, that is. Down, boys. 
PS. I have it on good authority that if it’s chocolate, Jim will like it. Er… perhaps I should re-phrase that.

I don’t know about Kirkland. I’ve seen some stuff he posted that makes me think he wouldn’t quite fit in. I don’t mean to imply that he’s a bad person, but there are certain things he does that make me uncomfortable, you know, deep down. Even if he doesn’t do them during dinner, it’ll still be hard to disassociate him from the stigma he’s built up.
But, I guess such prejudices really deserve challenging. So, and this only applies if we end up hosting of course, we need to lay down a simple rule that I think will keep peace through the evening.
The MacIntosh stays in the car/at home.

I just talked to Grace. It’s doubtful we’ll enjoy the company of Mr. Grace, but she’ll be there nonetheless.

When would be the last possible minute to let you guys know if I am going to come? There are some extenuating conditions I need to be clear on before I commit.
I talked with the folks at the Canonita. They said that for a group our size, I told her 15 to 20, we’d need reservations 1 day in advance. So, if we are going there, we’ll need a fairly accurate head count by Friday.
I have no idea what the place is like as far as socializing and mingling.
