DFW folks, Texans or Whoever - I'm having a party.

Actually, by my count, there will be at least four other people there who play/have played/know how to play. I don’t think we’ll draw too much attention. Plus, it’s always fun for the kiddos to watch. It’s no Yu-gi-oh, but it’s still interesting.

Enjoy,
Steven

good times. I’ll throw the box in the trunk then  I have at least a doxen fully playable decks in there should anyone want to join it.

And despite that, he still usually manages to win!

Bring it.

Also, I’m bringing my ping pong paddles. <evil grin>

AIEEE!! Flees from the ping pong table shivers uncontrollably You just don’t know the horrors ping-pong holds for me. When I was a kid we had a ping-pong table in the garage and I suffered many humiliating defeats at the hands of…

… wait for it…

my mother.

That’s right. My sweet, loving mother. Used to stomp the crap out of me on a regular basis at the ping-pong table. You don’t want to even KNOW how I feel about Monopoly.

Enjoy,
Steven

I feel your pain. My sister cheats at Monopoly and my mother creams me at checkers. Women…<trails off>

I’m in town this weekend, but we’re stuck packing boxes in the day and work stuff in the evening (blech!). Congrats on getting hitched, and I look forward to meeting the Mrs. at one or another of the DFW gatherings.

Hey minty, you guys got all the moving under control? Need a hand getting the furniture and stuff shifted or are you going to be hiring someone? IIRC your wife is several months pregnant at this point and it wouldn’t do for us guys to let yous guys handle your move on your own if there is a way we could help.

MDSL(do you mind if I call you MDSL?) she didn’t ever cheat. She was just freaking ruthless![sub]sucks thumb[/sub]

Enjoy,
Steven

I’ll also volunteer to help if I can.

MDSL if fine. Much shorter and whatnot. Mike also works if you rather.

Thanks for the offer, Mtgman, but we’ve got it mor or less under control. My dad and brother-in-law are helping to move boxes & small stuff this weekend, then the furniture and such gets moved mid-week by people who carry heavy objects up and down stairs for a living. My biggest concern at this point is learning how to operate all the junk for the pool and the sprinklers!

Ok, well consider this a standing offer. If things get more “less” than you feel comfortable with, give me a ring(you’ve got my number). I’ve been in the position of moving while my wife was pregnant before and we didn’t have enough hands to keep her from having to use hers. That was a pretty crappy experience and if I can help someone else from having to go through it I’ll gladly do so.

Enjoy,
Steven

Final day bump.

See y’all this afternoon. Anytime after around 2 o’clock will be fine.

I’m there. I’m baking a cake and bringing baked beans (new recipe so try it at your own risk) and cole slaw (also a new recipe).

Chiming in late, post-party. As Jim knows, daughter Bluebear and I got waylaid by some nasty virus/bug/whatchamacallit and have been hiding in the house suffering since Tues afternoon. I kept hoping it would finally go bug someone else (thankfully, it wisely stayed away from Mr Bear), but it was not until yesterday afternoon that either of us started to feel more like ourselves again. I may even try to go outside today, and see what’s left of my flowers, tomatoes, etc.

I haven’t even been on my puter until today. shudders Yes, that is how awful I have felt. I’ll spare you gentle folk the gory details; suffice it to say I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

Still, I really wanted to hop on here and say hi, and I am so sorry to have missed out on the welcome/get-to-know-the-new-Mrs Jim/sylph. Some other dopers I haven’t met yet too, I see. Howdy! One of these trips to the D/FW area I will get up there. I hope everyone had a great time, and I really am sorry I missed out on all those hugs too. [sub]not to mention those amazing weiners… ;)[/sub]
