DFW folks, Texans or Whoever - I'm having a party.

Sorry you can’t make it Chef Troy. I was looking forward to the bake beans.

Does anyone need directions? Please contact me if so.

I talked to Aglarond and he’s planning on coming to the party. See you on Saturday.

Oh good. I knew you could persuade him to come.

Yea, and he’s going to show up at the party too!

Enjoy,
Steven

Glad my humor isn’t totally wasted.

Hope y’all can make it.

Melissa and I are planning on coming and bringing the rugrats as well. I’d appreciate a new copy of the directions though. We’ve had some PC troubles at home and I haven’t re-built the system to the point where I can recover our old data(like old emails).

Enjoy,
Steven

I need directions as well. Thanks!

I’m still in try to make it mode - it all depends on what I can get done tomorrow. If it’s a go, I’ll be bugging you for directions tomorrow evening.

I need some directions…Steven…want a game or two?

I’ve sent directions to everyone that asked. Let me know if you didn’t get them.

I have plenty of fencing work left to do, so if anyone wants to come early… well, there’ll be plenty of beer.

Where’s Pete?!?!?!?!?

I don’t know…he and Scott and Minty are the only ones that I’ve met!

You’d think that at least one of them would show…

I heard from Scott since Zyada’s birthday party. Minty usually chimes in, maybe he hasn’t noticed the thread.

But Pete, where’s Pete. Do we have to mention running a video of “Army of Darkness” to get his attention???

What time is this little shindig going to start? My sister and niece are here, but they’re planning on leaving Saturday morning or early afternoon.

Any time after about 2pm. We’ll be grilling stuff around 5, but if anyone wants to swim or play badminton or ping pong they are welcome to come whenever they want.

minty has seen this thread, but, IIRC, he’ll be out of town this weekend. I had a short chat with him about it as a mini-hijack of a gun control debate.

My Darn Snake Legs A game or two should be doable. Guess I’ll have to throw a dueling deck together. Most of the decks I’ve got right now are multiplayer decks and don’t do well in duels.

Enjoy,
Steven

Steven go ahead and bring the multiplayer decks if you like. It’ll let me have a chance with my dated cards!

Hey, I’m an old card afficionado myself. I have only a smattering of the newer stuff (beyond Invasion). Plus, while the newer cards may be newer, that doesn’t mean they’ll be better. There are some neat new tricks in the various later expansions, but the cards work well together as long as you’ve kept up to date with the rules and the eratta text for the older cards. Kind of a PITA, but Wizards has issued “new text” for virtually every card printed before Sixth edition. Sometimes the changes are minor, sometimes major. I try to keep up with the major changes, but sometimes a card works very differently under the current “rules” than it would seem to based on the actual text on the card. At one time M:tG had a rule that said “If the card text conflicts with the rules, the card takes precedence” I think that went away around the time of Revised.

Updated card texts can be found at http://www.crystalkeep.com/magic/rules/oracle.html

I don’t think that will be much of an issue though. In friendly games it is easier to come to a quick agreement on how we’ll play it instead of looking up the rules as to “how it really should, officially, work”.

Enjoy,
Steven

Oh, and it should be noted that I don’t play to win, I play to have fun. If there is a play I could make which would win the game and another play I could make which won’t, but would be amusing, I’ll probably make the amusing one.

Enjoy,
Steven

Good times. Then I expect to see a bunch of people sitting around pointing and laughing at the two dorks who brought card games to the BBQ.
