I don’t think a handful of opinion pieces really count as “evidence” of much, except that some other libs share your opinion, but, granting for purposes of this post that perhaps SingleMalt is right and “he is willing to renege on any deal that Ann Coulter disapproves of”, doesn’t that just bring us back to the point that I made earlier:
Do you see that as substantially different from Juan Williams’ opinion (“I’ll tell you what you should do. You should go listen to Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, because they’re running this government”)?
I’m still fascinated by the novel concept of being able to negotiate with unauthorized agents. Holy hell, this would make things so simple.
“Why did you give me an ‘F’?”
“Because you didn’t answer a single question.”
“Well, I talked about this with my invisible friend Ms. Roofus and she says I deserve an ‘A’, so give me the A.”
“OK.”
No, I get that part. I get that Trump wanted to deliver the SOTU right there, and she told him ‘no’, and, ooh, that’s gotta sting. That makes perfect sense.
But the next part only makes sense if he was going to reply, ‘Well, okay, then: tell the networks that, once more, The President has Big Important Things To Say and so will address the nation from The White House.’ I have to assume that — and assume that he would’ve been pretty happy about that — and also assume that, instead, oh, it sure did ‘eat him up’ when Pelosi said he could do that if he wants.
That’s what I don’t get: telling him he can’t do what he wants, sure; but telling him he can do what he wants? That, as someone said, will “eat him up”?
Seriously?
Look, I don’t really know you — but if you ever decide you really want a guy to stop posting on this board, I figure you’d maybe report some of his objectionable posts to the powers that be. I don’t, though, figure you’d say “hey, you can post here if you want,” in hopes that it’d Eat Him Up, because — is that a thing?
A few years ago, “someone literally shit on the” flag. I know, I know, the flag and the Constitution are not the same, but given that the former happened, it’s not difficult for me to imagine some dumb liberal doing it to the latter as well, at least if they thought their bit of “performance art” would pack a similar punch.
So was there never a “deal” with Trump? If that’s the case, do you think it’s accurate to say “Trump reneged on the deal”?
Where is the prohibition on volunteer services found? Is it in the Constitution? Here’s a refresher for you: The post I responded to said this (in part):
