Did the trip to Oklahoma suck? Does a bear potty in the woods?

Why me!? Why me!? Why me!?

So, Mom has been living with sister for 5 months. Sister is a b****. She has made Mom miserable during that time. Mom wants to live with me. So, I board kitty, take dog and pick up brother in Arizona. Drop dog off with other sister. Drive to Oklahoma. Hate Oklahoma. I happen to be the only dark skinned member of my family and am actually biological daughter of b**** sister, having been adopted by grandmother, who is now Mom. Got it? Okay. CAN YOU POSSIBLY BE TACKY ENOUGH TO WALK UP TO A COMPLETE STRANGER AND ASK THEM ABOUT THEIR BACKGROUND? Apparently, you can in Oklahoma. I was having a hard enough time trying to get used to all of the stares, which were very uncomfortable, by the way. And the drive, which sucked. And the fact that I wanted to get back home ASAP, while the others seemed more than happy to putz around. ARGH! So, I’ve got hillbillies basically wondering how I can be dark colored when my Mom is not, who my mother is and how I relate in this family, stares because there just aren’t enough “colored” (that’s how they put it) people in town, and a round trip drive of 3800 miles, much of which was cramped in a car because my Mom had so much stuff and we couldn’t get a UHAUL trailer, people wasting fricking time while I’m trying to get back home so that I don’t waste too many vacation days on this trip to hell, and I’m paying for it. And my back is killing me because of 5 straight days in a car seat. No, I don’t like long distance driving. More power to you truck drivers out there (except for the one that tried to drive me off the road in New Mexico.)

Errr, yikes. Sounds like the Trip From Hell indeed…

I’m glad you’re home safe, Heloise.
Strangers really asked you about your family background? Jesus. Some people have no shame whatsoever.

But I bet you wished you bought a bigger SUV, huh?

Thanks, Coldie. I’m really glad to be home.

And, yes, unbelievably, some people were raised with zero manners.

Considering all the stuff my Mom had, I would have needed a much bigger vehicle. But ACK! Fatherjohn would have been pissed at the size I would have needed for this trip!

Your Toyota would probably be enough to piss fatherjohn off. :stuck_out_tongue:

That small thing? I wonder how he would have dealt with that mindless, obnoxious trip to the OK state without a SUV. Lots of luck.

Now, I feel sympathy for your having to drive all that way in cramped circumstances and I am glad you made it back ok.

But, how about the poor puppy, he must have been really really cramped, if all of your mom’s stuff was in the car. Where did he sit? Was he able to put his head out the window and catch some breeze?
pat

The puppy was fine. He was on my lap or my Mom’s, we’d stop and take him out for a little excercise and all was well. He’s a relatively small dog and is used to cuddling up with someone, so he didn’t seem to mind too much. It was either me or Mom that ended up being crowded!!!
