It drives me nuts to hear people crunching ice. Even thinking about it gave me shivers…

I can leave it.
I bought a 2 Liter, and it was work for me to finish it. It wasn’t bad enough to pour it out, but it wasn’t my first choice when I wanted something to drink.
I’ve still got a 2 Liter of Diet Coke with Lemon in the cupboard. I can’t psych myself up enough to try it, after hearing all the horror stories around here from people who thought it was crap!
I agree with the US version of the lemon one. It is nasty.
Next time in the States I’ll have to try the vanilla diet Coke to see the difference.
Here, I do prefer the vanilla now more than the lemon - though I will continue to drink all 3 flavours.
What I don’t understand is why someone partial to Diet would drink the stuff. I am a Diet Coke FIEND; I’m not up to 5-7 liters, but I do drink at least a six pack or more a day during school (less in the summer - more need for water, less need for caffeine). I don’t drink regular Coke because it’s so damn sweet. Yes, folks, I like nutrasweet over sugar. Come visit me in the hospital when I have every form of cancer imaginable.
Vanilla Coke is awful to me - if I wanted something that coats my mouth with a sugary taste, I’d drink plain, regular non-Diet coke. And as many posters have pointed out, the Diet tastes just like the Regular vanilla. Which means I don’t like Diet Vanilla Coke either.
So…yuck.
Luka, I just said last night that if there’s one thing in life that kills me, it will probably be the artificial sweeteners.
So will you be my cancer ward roomie when we get older and iller???
No! Crunching ice is bad for your teeth. There seems to be near universal agreement on this point.

I suppose rinsing your mouth out with water might be helpful after a sugary drink, but please do not get the idea that crunching ice promotes good tooth health.
lovelyluka: Some of us like the sweet taste, but don’t want to get really fat.
I can leave it. Yuck. Same goes for the Diet Coke with lemon; Pledge has never really done it for me.
slight hijack- Anyone tried the new Sprite? Sprite Remix, IIRC. I picked up a bottle today, and it’s not bad. Sprite + fruity flavoring.
Leave it. Diet Coke with Lemon is yummy, though.
Diet Vanilla Coke is the Nectar of the Gods! I am a SERIOUS addict… but I hafta say that when you get one from sonic made fresh, as it were, it is even BETTER! I just wish the distribution of DVC were a little better here in Alabama, all I can find are cans… sometimes I NEEDa 1 liter fix of Diet Vanilla Coke, darnit! my only recourse is to open a LOT of cans!
Haven’t seen the new Sprite yet, Second Star. You hafta remember we on this side of the pond tend to get things a few months (years) after ya’ll in the US.
I’ll keep an eyeball open for it though.
I’d love to see diet Pepsi Blue over here. To me it tastes like a blueberry Slush Puppy!
Diet Vanilla Coke-thumbs up.
Diet Pepsi Twist-thumbs up.
Diet Dr. Pepper-thumbs up.
Those are pretty much the only diet sodas I’ll drink. And my doctor has threatened me with an early death if I keep drinking so much regular soda … Oddly, I really don’t like regular Vanilla Coke or Pepsi Twist. Dr. Pepper is good, though. (And I’m not just saying that because I’d get run out of north Texas if I didn’t!)
