It’s going to be gone by the end of the year.
I suppose I’ll just have to add a few drops of pure vanilla extract to make my Diet Coke drinkable, then!

Yeah. I also preferred that stuff to classic. Is there Vanilla Pepsi?
Yes, but alas it tastes like malted battery acid. The Vanilla Coke was much superior. I’ve pretty much given up soda, but that was my one weakness. Alas, alack.
I never quite understood the appeal of it, but then, I was used to drinking Cokes that had a shot of vanilla syrup in them at my local coffeeshop–yowza sweet!
It looks Coca Cola has just been throwing all the different flavors out there to see what sticks.
I didn’t care for Vanilla Coke. Strange, it seemed like something I’d like, but the taste never really caught on with me. I think it was because it didn’t go with food too well.
A day after the same announcement was made in the UK. Just a hunch, with so many different flavors (diet & regular/caffeinated and caffeine-free: lemon, cherry, lime, vanilla, and soon-to-be black cherry) you have to cut out the slow movers to have enough room in the warehouses for the flagship.
We used to order these at the soda counter at the dime store. They were mahvelous…but the new pre-fab version just doesn’t cut it.
Yep, it’s going to be time to be my own soda counter. I’ll just go to the store and buy a Pump and fill it with a big bottle of Vanilla Extract and make my own. Of course, having gotten used to the imitation stuff in Diet Vanilla Coke, maybe I should stay with imitation Vanilla. Cheaper that way.
I never really liked it…It’s all about the Coke with lime, baby.
I never got around to trying Diet Vanilla Coke, but I like Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. The more artificial flavor, the better to disguise the aspartame, I suppose.
Vanilla Coke + rum = goodness. Suppose I’ll have to start buying vanilla rum now.
Only in America can you sell 13 million unit cases of a product in a year and still consider that a failure.
Goodbye, Diet Vanilla Coke, my love, my sweet. I shall never forget you.
Wait a second–Diet Vanilla Black Cherry Coke? There is hope! I may love again!
Back in the day when there were still soda shops we used to get chocolate cokes too. Coke with a shot of chocolate syrup.
Lemon vanilla shakes too. Shake with a shot of lemon juice. Don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it.
Ahh the memories.
Don’t any of you have a Sonic drive-in nearby? If you like vanilla coke, or chocolate coke or hell, even watermelon coke, Sonic is the place to go.
Diet Vanilla Coke was the only diet cola I could drink, until they brought out Coke Zero. Now, I won’t miss it as much.
I liked vanilla Coke, but I started drinking C2 whenever it was available. I’ll definitely give the black cherry vanilla a try when it comes out.
Not that I’d ever disagree with you, but I suggest others at least try the Vanilla Pepsi. I don’t like either, but my SO loves the Vanilla Pepsi so it can’t all be bad.
I wonder if they planned to keep it around. I don’t think it was a failure. With all the different flavors they have, I can’t help but think they were catering to a (perceived) fad. Maybe they’ll bring it back every once in a while.
It was like cream soda with an extra cup of sugar tossed in there. I like cream soda, but that shit was VILE.
My little sister drinks the diet coke with lime like water, though.
I love it, too. I prefer it, actually.
