Hey everyone, I hope your days were good.
I’ve been experimenting with things to put in bread and this morning’s bake included far too much raw garlic. (yes, it is indeed possible to have too much garlic) I was going to toss it but Hubs reminded me that the Tombies (they don’t want brains, they want toast) at the old folks home might not be able to taste it anyhow. I’ve gotten in the habit of taking three or four sliced loaves over a week, it lets me play and not waste food. I should put up a sign saying that I don’t bake as much when it is warm.
As soon as James put a slice in the toaster, doors started opening. I’m not sure if it was because they smelled it or saw me coming in with my bread bag, but they were all lined up for GARLIC toast and fresh butter by the time we left.
James wasn’t feeling well today so we had a short shopping outing and then I took him to Tudor’s for biskits and sausage gravy.
When I got home, Hubs told me that he felt left out because he also wanted Mexican and could smell the tacos on my breath last night. ![]()
He also wanted to go to the distillery, it appears that beer is pretty much off the menu for the rest of his life (drinking beer is the number one way to bring on a gout attack) so he wanted some sipping shine.
I thought I would like something bright for summer sipping, but also remembered that Mrs Hatfield likes tiramisu, so I took her one of my flavored coffee pods and suggested adding some cream for the sweet and a shot of her tiramisu shine for added oomph. She thinks I am a pretty smart cookie and planned to try it as soon as they closed the store for the day.
I wanted a Sangria slushy but the nozzle was frozen up, so she sold me a frozen pouch instead. She said the booze board nixed selling them in the store because people might drink them on the way home, so she had them in the back freezer because she didn’t want to throw them away.
After a big of taste testing, I turned down her new lemonade shine for the watermelon flavored shine. The lemonade wasn’t tart enough for me.
I drank most of the slushy on the way to the Mexican place and had a mongo Margarita. Now I’m comfortably numb.
The Hatfields are making wine now and the Mrs promised me a handful of green grapes anytime I’m there and they are in season. She agrees that possums are good to have in the garden because they also eat snails.
Mollie, you are good people to help rescue that silly puppers. I’ll bet its people were really happy to have him show up at your doorstep, many people would have just shooed him off.
As the executor of Mom’s will, may I suggest that whoever is in charge of the parents estates find out where all of the money is now. Get the routing numbers if possible. Banks don’t contact people about inactive accounts, they just wait for the required amount of time and close the accounts and take the money.
If the executor doesn’t know that the dearly dead has a 300.00 xmas account with BOA, BOA will just rub their hands together and take it as soon as they can.
I assume if I could get Apple Health (Medicaid) it would have told me.
They look at total household income.
Be sure and pack food for your orientation, I’m pretty sure you won’t have time to go out and get something during your half hour lunch break.
I hope the drive isn’t horrible, usually traffic is pretty easy that time of the morning.
Ms Peach is pleased with the situation.
Does she cuddle up with you? Or is she just happy that you are in her den where you belong? Feel better soon!
Managed to drag my ass to exercise despite the arthritis flare-up.
Good on you, your body will appreciate it! Dang about the death, I hope her not complaining meant no pain, not just stoicism.
Well, shopping is done and put away, cost more than planned
Grocery shopping has become such a shock every day. Last week I bought someone three oranges because she didn’t have enough money to pay for everything she needed and was going to put them back.
(mopping will have to wait).
Does Nelson help mop? George always disappears into the bedroom when I fill the mop bucket, but Jolene thinks it is play time and when that’s done, it is swishy-tail cat-walk through the middle of the wet floor time.
And off with me, I promised myself that I would clean the windows in my car in and out and now it is starting to get dark. TTYL, stay out of trouble!
