I think I’ll wait a while to read it, though, and savor it in a week or so. The Tuesday before Halloween, someone dropped about a dozen different Tracts at the Salvation Army Store I work for. I couldn’t find out who it was, but it seemed like I was following him/her around-- I’d pass a shelf or a couch and one would be there that wasn’t just a bit before! I got some great ones I’ve been looking for (“Hi There!” and “Bewitched?” especially). My most surreal Chick experience was finding a copy of “Charlie’s Ants” in a French newspaper in Barnes and Noble, when I was 16.
I feel bad for those who have never had the good fortune to find these little nuggets of (sometimes shockingly well-drawn) insanity in the course of daily life.

I guess you guys don’t check out the fundy message boards that take Chick as the gospel truth. Under a different user name, I’ve asked people to back up their assertions about Islam with cites and have been called any number of names for demonstrating that not all Muslims are terrorists and that Allah is the God of the Bible. The fundies uniformly know nothing about Islam (can’t quote any of the Qu’ran, don’t tknow the 5 Pillars, and so on), yet when I point out that it is useless to criticize a religion without knowing what it is, the standard response has been, “We only have to know that it is wrong. Don’t promote demon worship.” (meaning Islam.)
