Yup, because I apologized for the way that my post came off and clarified the original point that I was trying to make. C3 simply showed 1/2 of the story in an effort to make me look bad. YMMV, naturally.
Also, C3, I really don’t know where you get all of this stuff. Are you on some sort of medication that we should know about?
I was understanding your point until you got to this part. Is Bricker not supposed to enlighten Dio on things he is wrong about just because some posters feel that Bricker makes some threads ‘all about him’? I don’t get that.

Just thought I’d chime in with my POV as a lurker.
I LOVE Dio thread trainwrecks. Its very entertaining to watch both, his posting style, and the inevitable flurry of pissed off dopers trying to make him see reason. It really is fun to watch.
When I get tired of it, I stop reading those threads or his posts or both. Mostly, I like it though. Can’t wait to see what hill he decides to defend to the death next, as well as all of the otherwise normal people willing to die attacking that hill.
So you both read AND write in over-the-top hyperbole? Not only do you cast your opinions as inronclad fact and characterize any disagreement as character assassination or pathetic ignorance, but you see this behavior in everyone else too? Son, that ain’t no way to live.

I was mildly amused. I don’t think Bricker should refrain from his particular posting habits, but it was just funny to see him make his entrance here and in the ATMB threads, seemingly backing up the people who are attacking Dio for very similar habits. I find a lot of things funny. 
I find Dio over-the-top a lot of the time, and the last time I felt that I was involved in a thread that could go berserk, I just said that I would reply once and be done.
I get a rather creepy feeling from some in this thread that you are all sitting around waiting for Dio to post so that you can tut and poke and turn it into something big and ugly.
Yes, he posts his opinion as facts. Most of us do. Yes, he has made me back out of a thread without replying. Most of you have.

I’ve noticed Dio’s different behaviour of late. It’s most unlike him.

Well, great. But it’s not always as simple as ‘just ignore him if you don’t like him’. There was a GD thread where Dio and I were about that only ones on side A. But I couldn’t seem to get any serious conversation going, because of the firestorm his hyperbolic expression of that side drew all of the responses. When people started responding to my posts as if I’d been making the same exaggerated claims as Dio, I gave up on the thread. In fact, I don’t hang out much at all in GD anymore, there just doesn’t seem to be much point.
I guess the moral is that Dio is annoying when he’s wrong, and even more annoying when he’s right.

Had a shit-tacular day at work. The worst day I’ve ever had ( demotion and paycut) and to console myself I come here to see the Train Wreck Tour de Force going on, because no matter how craptacular the RL is, there is some poo flinging going on in the PIT. It never ceases to amaze me how involved and over involved people get with their online time.

Thing is, Dio tends to act like his [del]fact[/del] opinion is the only one that matters. Much like lissener and Verhoven but Dio isn’t limited to any particular topic.
I find it a bit startling if you don’t think we all do that. Some of us have a tiny bit more tact is all.
And now Dio hunting appears to be a sport for some of the lesser lights here. It’s becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy at this point. Everyone wants a piece of the action.
Really? Could it just be, instead of “Dio hunting”, that he keeps pulling this shit in thread after thread and people involved in the threads are therefore noticing it a lot more? If “we all did that”, you don’t think we’d be called out on it? Dio’s annoying posting style of late has caused 2 threads to be locked within the past day. I have no personal beef with the guy, but I’ve noticed it, too, and it goes beyond having a tiny bit less tact. In the GQ thread that on the probability of extraterrestrial life, his argument with Blake turned into “It’s pointless to argue with creationists”, even though Blake admitted he was not a creationist and was a scientist. That’s more in the realm of childish foot-stomping than intelligent discussion.
Having read that thread, I’d say that Blake was the one with the foot stomping hysteria.
Dio’s just the flavor of the day. Every so often, there’s someone a group of people decides to get all worked up over, then they talk about it more and more, then more people join in, then they post to threads in order to predict trainwrecks that haven’t happened, then they pat themselves on the back when trainwrecks do happen, then Guin says “Me too” a lot, etc.
Dio is an annoying poster, but he’s not annoying all on his own.
And with that, I’ll say the same thing I said the last time I was in a Dio-related tranwreck. This is my last reply. I’ve said my piece and have no personal need to do more than that.
Apparently in Hentor’s Dio-worshipping world, any criticism of his hero is “making it personal”.
Perhaps I shouldn’t have dragged up past instances, but for those who claim this is only a recent thing for Dio, and that it’s not like him – well, the links speak for themselves. He has a long habit of doing this, and my examples merely establish a pattern of this. Make of it what you will.

Sorry, I don’t buy the paranoid angle. You honestly think a group of posters alert each other that “this guy’s the new target”? That’s a more reasonable explanation than a specific poster acting like a dick repeatedly and getting called on it? Bizarre.
Those of you who say Dio is the target du jour, have you read the spanking thread? Two mod “knock it offs” to him before many comments about Dio. He even earned a third mod comment later in the thread. And his statement wasn’t accurate even though he said it over and over again.
I mostly just read threads now and thought that was a darned good topic before it became the Dio show. He’s like my kids,“yes you are” “no I’m not” repeat numerous times add powers of infinity, add 1 and then I send them to their rooms.
Well, people HAVE been paid not to post before.
