I liked the old Mars bar. It was kinda like a flattened oval.
Peace,
mangeorge
There was also a RC Cola Gum in that same line.
Choc-O-Lite bars. I think they were made my Nestle and had crispy rice puffs inside. A lot like Nestle Crunch but with several nice and thick segments instead of the wimpy and thin bar like Nestle Crunch is today.
And I also miss Pop Rocks. I guess too many kids died while drinking soda at the same time.
Pop Rocks are still very much around.
Oh noooooooo…I had forgotten all about those! They were one of my favorites!! I had no idea they were discontinued, though. If so, then here in Alabama, it was pretty recently. I definitely remember chowing down on those when I was pregnant with my last baby, who is now six.
[sub]Mental note: Scour candy aisles looking for these bad boys on next chocolate attack…[/sub]
That’s interesting to hear about Choc-O-Lite and Pop Rocks still being around. I haven’t seen them in about 20 years. I guess I can blame it on the isolated market in which I live.
I can send you some Pop Rocks if you want.
beagledave! C’mere so I can give you a kiss! ::smooch:: Thanks for the link – they have Teaberry gum!
This place has some of that hard-to-find stuff, too.
My kids just bought Pop Rocks this weekend at a Cracker Barrel in Frederick, Maryland.
I remember the Choco-Lites and Marathon bars. Boy, they were good.
And Teaberry gum. Yummy! What flavor is it, anyway?
I haven’t seen Beeman’s Chewing Gum around in a long time. Any recent sightings?
Not a candy, but a drink…
Does anyone remember Tab? We used to drink that all the time.
Sounds more like the Mirage bar to me. Aero’s flat and has a rather standard texture. Mirage are thick and have a weird texture.
Consigliori,
Alas, both Beeman’s Black Jack and Clove gum has been discontinued, according to Kinsey’s link. I remember it making a brief comeback a couple years ago. I guess I shoulda stocked up.
I recall Name Droppers; which had a girl’s name on one side and a boys on the other. When you think about it, it was homophobic!
Also Razzle-Dazzles.
Something else that was candy but turned into gum when you chewed it.
Are PixieStix still around?
I recall the gum cigars, chocolate cigarettes(we thought we were sooo cool).
I haven’t seen Chiclets in a long time.
Pixi stix are still around, but what I miss is the ATOMIC WARHEADS, the sour ones are still around en masse, but the Hot ones are gone, of course the flavor combos were rather odd, Hot grape, and hot tomato, but boy would those things set your toung a blazin. If anybody knows where I can get some hot warheads, let me know.
Fnord, a certified toung masochist, and proud of it.
wasabi and Daves Insanity, the perfect way to wake up.

I think Tab went by the wayside with the development of Diet Coke. Tab was pretty much the only diet alternative for a long time, and once they came up Diet Coke (weren’t they pretty much the same thing, just a different name?) there was no need for it anymore.

Dammit. No marathon bars, either.
Here’s a possible substitute for you.
I just saw some TAB in the local Albertson’s a day or two ago. I think that Diet Coke was introduced after aspartame came on the scene. I seem to recall that some drinks continued to be sweetened with saccharine, and I think TAB was one of them.
We’ve had Teaberry gum (and teaberry ice cream) around here for years. I’ve seen the Beeman’s around, too…it was a retro thing for a while. And Pixie Sticks and Chiclets are still seen around here, anyway (central PA).
