I did provide the by-now obligatory bailout option for the BMI poll. so, having done so, just curious as to what would have you choose that. Are you a massive bodybuilder?

I got this body by lifting weights.

Hubby gets an urge for one about every 6 months. We recently got individual ones - sort of like an ice cream bar, but a mini Vienetta. Works well.

Most of those recipes use convenience/pre-packaged foods, and specify types and amounts which were clearly common decades ago, but which can either be hard to find today, or at least packaged in a different size/quantity.

Same problem moving to another country. Evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk come in different quantities, and they are used in many recipes.

That being said, i have no use for half a can of tomato paste. We usually either use a can or use a tablespoon.

I also buy tomato paste in a tube. Best thing ever. And it’s so common, I can even get different brands or tomato paste with basil.

I didn’t know about tomato paste in a tube. Doesn’t really matter. The only recipe I use it in is a big pot of sauce. I make so much that I have to use multiple cans of paste.

We have some Indian recipes that call for a tablespoon or two of tomato paste. It makes a huge difference in the flavor of the sauce, but it doesn’t take much.

We had a false spring here in New Mexico in early March, as is traditional. I think Mother Nature gets a sick thrill out of fooling all those non-native fruit trees into blooming just before a freeze. The difference this year is that we’ve gone into a weeks-long stretch of serious winter weather. I think this has confused the birds - we have some songbirds that have flown in from the south, but the majority of our crows haven’t left yet. I think we’re having a bird housing crisis that mirrors the human one right now.

At the moment the morning bird song seems a bit light, but it has intensified over the last week - I think one of the types of migrating birds arrived, and they are loud.

Two years ago there were neighbor cats attacking the birds in our back garden, so we had far fewer birds there. The cats are gone (no idea why) and so we have more birds there.

I am also not at home during the day as my manager canceled home office, so I only get to experience the birds in the morning and evening, which is when they tend to be more active.

Our song birds were noticeably active and loud last weekend. It was nice.
