Rgd bathroom use - I think it has to do with the framing. Those folks who came and delivered something to us and then ask is going to be a yes, most of the time. Especially for branded amazon pickups, because it’s something identifiable and 99% of the time, something you expected. Sadly, these days, there’s always the concern that someone is scamming you. So if it was for a delivery I WASN’T expecting, and it’s not around a holiday or birthday, I might let the person deliver before opening the door to check it.
And it’s not like it being Amazon makes it 100% safe to be clear, just that it’s a lot less likely to be a pretense.
As for writing my names in books, historically there has been one time where it’s always been a hard ‘yes’ for me, and that’s for my gaming books. Back before my local gaming group moved away (and finding a new group is just so damn painful) my name was written in all my books - because I might need to hand it to someone who didn’t have a copy, or hand it to the GM in my evil rules lawyering grin, and at the end of the day, make sure I got my copy back.
Or I’d go play at cons, and want to make sure of the same.
Well, both, but as far as the set list goes, they will play a completely different show every night. They will almost certainly not repeat a single song over the course of the five shows. I doubt they have ever played the same setlist in any two shows in the last 30 years.
Also, on the third night they have John Fogerty joining them. I’ve seen Fogerty perform live once before and he was great. I’m really looking forward to seeing him play with my favorite band.
I can’t remember the last time I wrote my name in a book; but I might do it, depending on the book, if I were travelling with it or lending it. I used to often do it when I was a child, though.
I always invite contractors to use my restrooms, and usually ask if they want water or tea.
I haven’t ever volunteered that they are welcome to play their own music (although the carpenter currently in my basement generally does that.) It wouldn’t have occurred to me to complain, unless their music is crazy loud. Thanks for that suggestion. I’ll offer, going forward.
Our painter tapped into our Sonos system and played her music through our speakers. Apparently, she got a pop up inviting her to do so. We like her, and didn’t mind, but it was weird to discover it the first time it happened.
That’s correct (at least for me) – most roleplaying games have their rules in one or more books, and players typically bring one or more of their books along with them to a gaming session or convention, so that they can refer to the rules during play.
As a result, it often means that there may be multiple copies of the same rulebook at the table during a game, and confusion over which copy is whose can occur.
@DCnDC and @kenobi_65 answered correctly for myself as well. I guess I should have typed in TT-RPG (Table Top Role Playing Game) which seems to be the current terminology to be more clear.
But yeah, I figured I’d have a backpack (light or heavy depending if I was playing more than one rpg) with different rules books for a con. Even with friends, if you’re bringing supplements to the Core play books, it adds up fast.
There are three gas stations, all of which have public restrooms, within 5 minute drive (different directions), plus a rest stop about 10 minutes up the autobahn, so I answered no, also because it’s just not done here.
When we had our kitchen redone, the contractor got a porta potty - which is fairly normal.
At one point (elementary school?) I had stickers to put my name in my books. Later I got a stamp, so I could put my name and address (college) in my books, which was convenient when I was away at college.
I have one of these to carry my books, dice and minis in.
I’ve not written my name in my books. My PHB is so covered in sticky notes that it’s pretty distinctive.
