Discussion thread for the "Polls only" thread (Part 1)

“That make me think” and “That are easy to answer” are somewhat contradictory of each other; but I nevertheless picked them both (among other choices) because I like them both in different ways.

it was “infinate categories”. Different thing altogether.

Regarding the Beautiful South poll, my first thought was I liked “In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company”. Then when I went to YouTube to check some of their songs, I realized I had them confused with the Dead South.

Is “cafe kitty” a cat who lives (happily) in a café?

Because that’s who I voted for.

That is who I meant. And it was a multiple-choice poll, you could have also selected other options.

I selected Other as one of them because Pie wasn’t listed.

Prrrrr.

And I did also select other options. Thanks for the option to do so!

Phew, it’s not just me. It turns out I was thinking of the band “The Soundtrack of Our Lives” (I think I guy I used to work with recommended both to me).

I wouldn’t have been able to choose between pie and pudding, but I marked Other anyways.

Cafe kitties are the best. All the pets and purring, mellow, and no litter boxese or hair balls.

Percentage tip, rounded up to some plausible even number. Voted other.

Some furniture etc. gets moved every time I vacuum; some occasionally and erratically; some hasn’t been moved since I got here 30-some years ago. Some of what I have is a lot harder to move than others. Didn’t vote.

I sometimes tip a percentage, sometimes round up to a round tip, and sometimes round up to a round bill. It depends a bit how I am paying. I like the cash portion to be a round number, if there’s a cash portion. I probably voted.

I never vacuum. Unless you count the handheld thing I use for cleaning up spills. The cleaning lady comes every other week, and that’s enough vacuuming for the carpets. I voted in that one, too.

I like to see the answers, and I don’t like having unvoted polls scattered around.

Maybe don’t trust votes. Especially if there’s no “other”.

(although I didn’t vote in the long list of names. I rarely vote in those polls.)

I calculate a rough 20% on tips, and then round up a couple of dollars.

Like the above, rough percentage rounded up.

I need more choices for the secret agent poll. 7 isn’t enough! In the end, Napoleon Solo loses to Derek Flint entirely due to Coburn’s little “skip” when he moves fast across a room.

Start with 20%, then increase to a pleasant round number.

Which Agent 13? The one from Marvel Comics, or the one from Get Smart?

I can understand snubbing Ethan Hunt and Jack Ryan, but John Clark and Secret Agent X-9 should have been on the list.

And if John Clark is on the list, it must also include Domingo Chavez.

Something/body might be my favorite because of making me re-evaluate my life choices. That wasn’t true of the most recent poll, however; I just liked reading about/watching some of them.

Tip depends on where I am. In the U.S, typically 20%, especially since COVID. In Switzerland, often 2 Francs, usually more, depending on the restaurant, the number of people, amount of alcohol imbibed.

I tend to follow the local tipping practices and err on the generous side.

I picked Cinnamon Carter because I always thought Barbara Bain was incredibly gorgeous.

I just kind of “gut feeling” when calculating tips, based on whatever I feel when I see the total. It’s generally about 25%, and I’m sure I’m just doing the math subconsciously.
