I’ve passed a fried bug vendor pushing a street cart in Thailand. I nearly horked after just glancing at the selection. It was touch and go for a moment.

I wasn’t sure how to answer the bug question. I’ve eaten grasshoppers that i caught and fried myself. And sure, I’d try fried bugs from a street vendor. But should i choose “i already have”? Because I’ve never eaten bugs prepared by someone else, unless you count crustaceans.
I wasn’t sure how to answer it either; because I’m not sure whether I’d try any from a street vendor. Among other things, is this a vendor that I know has been in this business for years with no problems, or somebody I know nothing about? – and I think I’d need to be looking at the particular bug before I’d know whether I’d be willing to eat it or not.
It sounds like this was a random vendor with a street cart in Thailand. Unless someone had warned me that street food is unsafe in Thailand, I’d try it for the novelty.
I’ve eaten various insects before. They mostly just taste like whatever they’ve coated them in. Plain, they generally just taste like dirt.
I’m already on a beta blocker, so I don’t know if another one would help or just interfere with the other one. But I’ve adjusted to one cup of coffee a day, and so far I’m dealing ok.

@Velocity: Somewhere inbetween 1 and 2. I’m not wildly enthusiastic about Biden; but I think he’s doing a better job than most people would under very difficult circumstances, and will vote for him with moderate enthusiasm.
This will be true in the general and also, unless somebody really unexpected shows up who I’m wild about, will be true in the primary.
Both. Although that’s a good point, the distinction hadn’t occurred to me.
The impression I get (as a non-Democrat) is that most Democrats are being cajoled into voting for Biden, kind of like getting a dental procedure done. It’s what’s makes practical sense, but nobody’s excited.
Gallup has 75% of Democrats rating him favorably, so I’m not sure what your news funnel is, but that’s not the way it is. Also, there’s a wide interval between getting a dental procedure done and being excited… In any case, as a Democrat, I like him a lot.
Exactly my feelings as well. There should have been an “in between” option.
I don’t know who is doing this cajoling. Most of us realize Biden is doing a bang-up job under difficult circumstances and are happy to give him another term. Our only hesitation (if you can all it that) is the apparent fact that too many voters have some problem with him and thus we fear he might not win. So, sure, give me another Obama or JFK and I’d consider jumping ship. Short of that, I’m going with Biden because he’s good at his job.
