I’ve been to both MLB and NBA conference championships, as well as NFL playoffs, but never the finals of any of them. I’ve also been to FS1 racing and regional conference( CONCACAF) soccer tournaments.
And Cancer ties Pisces for the top spot.
Where are all our Leos and Libras?
mmm
Joe is the dad. I assumed from the context that the poll was referring to him rather than the “Stepping Out” singer or the Shoeless ballplayer.
For the Holodeck, I picked AD&D. One, nothing says you can’t, during your adventure, stop for Ale and Whores. Two, I have historically spent a LOT more time doing AD&D then Porn, even as a teen, for obvious physical reasons.
I actually make the trip from LA to San Francisco several times a year. I had to answer other because if it is a single day or I will be doing things over multiple days in San Francisco itself or other areas served well by BART and bus, I fly. If I’m doing things over multiple days in the Bay Area in general (Silicon Valley, Marin, the Valley), then I drive.
As an example, last year I attended an event in Richmond that lasted from noon-4. I flew up in the morning, drove a rental to the event, and flew back in the early evening. Uber to/from LAX. I was back in my living room before 9 PM. No way that works with driving or the train.
It seemed to me that “porn” could encompass all of those other things and more.
I had it between Joe and Samuel L., but I know Samuel L. doesn’t need my vote, so I went with Joe.
Okay, you’ve convinced me. I voted “porn” so I could have access to Luxury Vacations with sexytimes, historical reenactments with sexytimes, role-playing games with sexytimes, etc.
I almost went for Bo, because I loved the old “Bo Knows” ads.
Alright Catherine of Aragon, let’s get to work trying to conceive that son…
I don’t think she would have gone for that. You’d have better luck with Anne Boleyn.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying I won’t bail once I’ve determined it doesn’t suck out loud. I might, for any number of reasons. It’s just that if I start, I don’t want to be intimidated by sheer volume. So if I’m considering Supernatural and then see that it has 327 episodes, I’m going to look for something different. (I did watch it through seven seasons as it originally aired and then lost interest even though I liked that season on the basis of being able to think of it as one single season-long dick joke.)
And if something is sufficiently compelling because I have a particular liking for the subject matter or I’m intrigued by the premise or it’s based on a novel by Richard Brautigan, or whatnot, that would increase my tolerance for number of episodes. (That said, I don’t think there’s a Brautigan novel that would dramatize out to more than a single season.)
But I do need to be able to expect something compelling if I’m going for much more than a hundred episodes.
Whereas i see a lot of episodes and think, “hey, if i enjoy this, i have a nice bank of shows to watch.” The more the merrier, even though i know that if there are 1000 shows the quality probably declined at some point. But i see zero downsides to more episodes, and feel zero compunction to watch them all.
I think it depends on whether the episodes are standalones or part of a long story where, if you don’t watch at least a complete season, you miss the payoff.
Exactly. Buncha stand-alones I can handle. Multi-generation arcs ala Perry Rodan, no way.
Isn’t role playing very common in porn?
Acting a profession or activity: I could do it as a tutor, maybe a teacher in a classroom setting.
As far as hobbies go, I could likely fake being a race car driver, with a modicum of adjustment to the vehicle in question.
I figure i could act myself, and my profession. And other stuff i actually do.
Can I assume there’s a direct train between my starting point and destination even if at least one of them is nowhere near a city?
Because if so, I’m taking the train. (And apparently back in the first half of the 20th century you could indeed walk up to the railroad line which runs right next to the farm, flag it down, and get on. There are still occasional freight trains on that line, but you sure can’t flag it down and climb on any longer.)
But if I have to drive to the nearest city with a passenger train station in order to catch one, for that distance I’m going to drive. Road trip!
On stage, I played a spear-carrier. Literally. In Antony and Cleopatra Roman soldier. I had one short line.
I like taking Amtrak, but it is not very convenient. I usually drove that distance, but flying also.
