Whatever you ranked 1,2, or 3 in the ranked poll, you should checkmark in the second poll. If you only ranked 1 or 1,2, only checkmark those in the second poll.
I don’t think the ranked poll will allow you to submit your vote if two choices have the same rank. I haven’t tried, say, ranking only 5th and 8th choice, to see if you can submit that. Hmmm, back to the test thread for experiments.
Which is why I hate ranked polls and rarely take them; and didn’t take that one.
(I’d make an exception for ranked poll voting in elections, because I think the advantages of that would be greater than the disadvantages of my potentially trying to rank candidates in precise order with no ties.)
@chela, however, has included neither an option for “other” nor one for “don’t know, never tried one of those” nor one for “don’t care as long as it fits in the cupholder, is cleanable, and is easy to drink from onehanded.”
Yup. I didn’t vote in that poll. There are a lot of things i care about in a portable drink holder, but the brand name isn’t on the list. Today I’m reusing a bottle that originally held Fiji brand water.
What I bring out to the fields is generally a miscellaneous used plastic food-grade bottle, washed out and refilled with water until it starts to look too grungy and goes into the recycle.
In the car I want something I don’t need to remove the top from in order to drink from it; and, much of the year, something that won’t break if it freezes. I used a couple of Equal Exchange cups that came with a coffee order years ago for quite a while; then I lost the top to one and shortly after broke the top to the other. Now I’m using one I picked up at a used goods store and one somebody left behind at farmers’ market and never came back for (I brought it back the next week, in case; but market’s over for the season now and I figure it’s mine.) I don’t know the brand of either one, offhand.
If I’m heading into a long meeting I’ll take the one from the car. Otherwise I don’t generally carry one around with me. Much of my life was in the days when the only time people carried water around with them was when they were going on a hike, and then it was a canteen and we didn’t call it a “personal hydration device”, we called it a canteen. Grumble, grumph, get off my lawn (but while you’re going, could you send somebody to bring water fountains back?)
We had a long debate earlier in this thread and/or its predecessor about whether polls should always include an “other” option. I was, and am, on the side of those who say yes – though quite a few people rename it something other than “other”.
I have one of the Stanley, and a whole bunch of the generic copies, and honestly, there is little difference. Well, the Yeti is like ten times the price, so I guess that is a difference.
I really have no interest in baseball anymore, after decades of having been a fan, but watching a Dave Roberts team beat the Yankees (again) would be delightful.
I didn’t vote for the travel mug, because I buy whatever is cheaper, with decent reviews, and has the features I want. Specifically, for longer trips, I want something with a replaceable, re-usable straw, because I hate having 2/3 of my view of the road blocked by upending a huge travel mug to get the last half of the drink out. Sure, the straw is geeky, and user beware with hotter drinks, but again, eyes on the road.
