Yep. Even worse than some of the “Jungle Juice” concoctions we made in college in search of a cheap buzz.
I’ve only had a few: Red Bull (at the time imported), Fanta (was very popular in Mexico when visiting decades ago), Orangina, and a huge variety of Ginger beers (imported, regionally and locally brewed). The only ones I actively seek out are good ginger beers and brews. Mostly to make Dark and Stormy.
One that I wish had been listed is Iron Brew.
It goes great with haggis. /s
Me, too. But they’re getting harder and harder to find. There’s just something about the way the bottle fits in your hand. Plus, I love the drink.
I only have a vague memory of drinking Fanta as a kid – grape and orange are the flavors I remember.
I thought I saw IrnBru? on the list.
You did. It’s been nearly thirty years since I was last in Scotland, and I mis-remembered how it was spelt.
I have had several, and there was a Coke pavilion in Walt Disney World that had unusual flavors.
The “Help yourself” display at the World of Coca-Cola Exhibit in Atlanta has lots of them, or they did when I was last there.
For the Windows taskbar option, the pollster left out “hidden”.
I therefore voted “something else” but when I pull it up, it is at the bottom, so technically could have gone with that option.
Ugh, i hate that option. (Hiding it.) That’s what my Mac wants to do with one of the two screens, usually the one i want to get to the task bar from.
When it first became an option to move it, i played around with some other positions, but decided i like it on the bottom.
On the other hand, when M$ Edge let me move the tabs from the top to the side, i was instantly in love.
I keep the taskbar on the right side of the desktop, and it is hidden until I mouse over it. When it’s on the top or bottom, there is room for about 12 items on it, and each one is severely truncated. When the taskbar is on the right side, there is room for about 30 items, and each one is twice as wide as when the bar is on the top or bottom.
Re the OS - unix is my first love, and if I could, that’s all that I would use. But it is definitely a user-hostile system, and as a user, I will go with Windows. Not as admin needy as Unix
Taskbar on the bottom, always there and with as few items as I can on it. I hate the clutter if its full.
Re: what I live on - My actual address and driveway are on A-------- Loop, but my main road frontage is on B-------- Road.
Actually, now that I think about it I probably have as much frontage on Loop, but it’s almost all pasture. We’re a corner property, and Loop is a dead end dirt lane (and not really a loop anymore) whereas Road is a pretty well-traveled rural paved road.
We live on a lane with the same name as the road our lane branches off from.
I would rather put the task bar on my main screen on the right - that way my open apps would neatly stack, enabling me to quickly switch between them. Our upgrade to Win 11 robbed me of this though. I did manage to get the Start button on the right where Og intended it to be, rather in the middle.
I live on a “Trail” I voted “other” as a result.
When I was a kid we lived on a “Crescent.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen another one.
I’ve seen a “Crescent” somewhere, though I don’t remember where.
I’m mildly surprised that so far more people live on an “avenue” than on either a street or a road.
I have the Dock on the left hand side of my screen, for what it’s worth. The screen has more horizontal than vertical space, and a chunk of the vertical is taken up by assorted headers when using a browser.
I live on an other.
I voted none of the above on the drink poll. I’ve had a Red Bull and vodka but never had it straight.
I grew up on a Loop, which also wasn’t included in the poll. But my current residence is on a Drive.
Did you loop de Loop?
We had a Didja do the town name thread but not a street name one (that I know of)
My grandparents lived on a “crescent”. I’m also surprised by all the avenues.
