I’ve never gotten a tattoo because I’m not sure I’d have wanted it later. I’ve never seen or thought of a design that I thought I’d probably like forever. And since you (usually) have to pay to get them, then pay to get it removed if you get tired of it, I’ll keep not getting them.
I retired last year and have considered a tattoo. I mean, f it, who cares what people think now? But inspiration on what to get or where to place it hasn’t struck.
I have zero interest in getting a tattoo, and have never gotten one. I’ve seen some impressive tattoo art, but have never thought it made any man more handsome or any woman more beautiful. YMMV, obviously.
I’ve seen about half of the musicals listed, most of them performed by touring companies. My favorite is probably Hamilton, which I saw once in Chicago in its first run there, then again by a touring company in Cleveland, and finally the movie, streaming on TV with the original company. Brilliant!
When I think “incel,” I think of an angry, young, overweight, antisocial white guy who is mad at all women because none of them want to sleep with him. Not nice people. A stereotype, to be sure, but that’s my mental image. Wouldn’t want to see a movie about ‘em.
Did most of my dating in the Midwest in the Eighties, and it was definitely expected that the guy would pay for dinner, a movie, popcorn, etc. If I were to start dating again now, I’d always first offer to pay but would have no problem going halfsies.
I put ketchup on french fries, burgers and hot dogs; nothing else. (Nixon liked it on cottage cheese, I’ve read - eww!). Heinz is by far my favorite, but I’ll use other brands if that’s all that’s available.
I’ve never made more than a half-hearted attempt to solve a Rubik’s Cube. My brain’s just not wired that way.
I’ve seen Oklahoma in both a high school and a community theater
Hello Dolly in my HS
The King and I in a HS show (cousin was in theater and starred in Oklahoma and The King and I)
Guys and Dolls; and Jesus Christ, Superstar in my college theater.
Godspell in professional local theater
Touring company productions of Cats, Chicago (with Sandy Duncan), and Will Rogers Follies.
I’ve seen too many plays to count, but that list includes The Mousetrap in West End
True, but lots of cheap B&W tattoos looking like they are gang or prison tats- that does decrease the attractiveness.
The most gorgeous tattoo I’ve seen was a tree that grew over a woman’s whole back. It was kinda art nouveau, and just line art.
But, that’s also a legitimate genre. Personally I like stick&poke tattoos that are intentionally crude.
See “Ignorant Style Tattoos” or “French Prison Tattoos”.
ETA: some of the tattoos are mildly NSFW.
I love balsamic vinegar. I like to do a balsamic reduction to drizzle onto the plate as decoration.
I’ve had multiple crowns put in my mouth. One of the steps after the tooth stub is shaped is to wrap string around the tooth soaked in some gunk to get the gums to shrink away so they can take a mold of the tooth to make the crown. It’s revolting. Like creosote.
That’s what a balsamic reduction tastes like.
I work graveyard shift.
I try to go to bed at 3pm.
I usually succeed in going to bed around 5pm.
So I voted for 4pm.
Another question I can’t answer, I don’t eat Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream. I usually get 7 servings from a litre of ice cream but should I convert that to what we call pints here (imperial pint) or a US pint if I wanted to answer it for ice cream in general?
62 miles north is somewhere between Gettysburg and Hanover, PA.
62 miles east is The Middle of Fucking Nowhere, MD. Actually, it’s just a couple miles away from Greensboro, MD, but that’s basically the same thing.
Anywhere west or south of here is Virginia and fuck that, so Gettysburg it is.
Taken literally as 100 km in a compass direction, directly west is the Pacific Ocean, directly south is the Pacific Ocean, directly north is a national forest, and directly east is Riverside. So, only one allowable move and the result would be an increase in commute time to about 4 hours daily. Nope, not moving.
West is ocean, south is USA. I picked north, but east would be fine, too.
North and east are middle-of-nowhere desert.
South would land me about 10 miles south of Searchlight, essentially an abandoned mining town, population 445.
West puts me in or near Pahrump. It’s still pretty isolated, but there are 44,000 residents, so I’ll call it the least bad option.
Definitely West. Due East puts me in the middle of Joshua Tree National Monument. Barren Wasteland. Due North or South gets me Barstow or Escondido. Same deal. Due West puts me in the middle of LA (San Gabriel/Monterey Park) which would be fine.
Since moving off the farm years ago I have mostly lived in places where 62 miles would barely get me out of town! Weird to me to think 62 miles would be a different country or somehow a very different environment.
62 miles west would put me somewhere in the Napa/Sonoma wine country. Tempting, but I imagine a pretty expensive place to live, and I assume I would have to pay the expenses associated with living there.
62 miles south would put me around Stockton. No thanks.
62 miles east puts me in the Sierra Nevada mountains somewhere south of South Lake Tahoe. That wouldn’t be too bad in the summer, but I don’t think I want to deal with the winter snowfall. And if the poll literally means precisely 62 miles due east I’ll probably end up in the middle of the Eldorado National Forest pretty far from civilization.
62 miles north puts me somewhere near Grass Valley / Nevada City. Pretty nice area, IMO. Small town feel, affordable by California standards, but most of the amenities I want. That was my pick.
My preferred bedtime would be something like 11 PM. Unfortunately, my actual falling-asleep time is often 3 or 4 AM, due to DSPD (delayed sleep phase disorder.)
I’m in central Colorado Springs, so 62 miles in any direction will leave me well within the state.
East? That’s the horrible flat country where the landscape and people might as well be Western Kansas. Hard pass (plus in that area, it’s basically a 2 horse “township” with maybe a post office!).
South? I’d be in Pueblo Colorado, which, while suboptimal, has all modern American amenities. Not my first choice, but I’d be fine.
West? Lovely, lovely country, but the smallish towns in the valleys are somewhat insular and lacking in options. If it was a bit further west Buena Vista would be a marginally better choice (I’ve spent time there), but it’s still going to be my next to last choice (waaaay better than east though!).
North? I’m in the southern Denver metroplex. Probably far enough away from the heavily travelled areas as to not go insane with traffic (yes I’d adapt) but much closer to serious shopping, food spots, and access to a well-equipped airport - so easy win.
Oh, and for the redress (heh) the Republican candidate, if you count NFTs, I’m pretty sure we already have a “What if” version of Trump in most if not all of the options!
