I have 3.9 million Indonesian Rupiah (about US$250) as I am going to Bali, does that mean I am a millionaire?
I had around $150M Turkish Lira in my pocket back in 1999. Talk about feeling wealthy!
You haven’t lived until you’ve used a million of your country’s currency to buy a bar of chocolate.
Yep. Somehow my Econ students weren’t impressed when I showed them I was a multibillionaire (in Zimbabwean dollars.)
You can get a full set of bills on eBay, cheap.
On anything small like saluting a casket- you go along. Hardly an “Illegal order”.
Are all honor guards voluntary?
I don’t remember having heard of Kirk while he was alive. But I might have seen the name and forgotten about it.
Never heard of Charlie Kirk until now.
I wasn’t aware of Kirk by name, but I’d often get his Turning Point postings in my YouTube “community” area. (I posted trolling comments there on occasion…) It was enough to dial down my empathy for him by an order of magnitude when I found out “oh, he’s the ‘Turning Point’ guy?!?” after the news hit. Can’t argue with Karma, after all!
I had seen the meme of Kirk as a guy with a huge head and a teeny face in the middle but I had no idea who he was.
I saw the breaking news when it was being reported that he had been (just) shot. I had to look up the name; not surprised I didn’t recognize him given what he did.
I didn’t recognize Kirk’s name. I’m really bad with names, so i might have seen it. I feel like he was important enough that i should have seen it, and maybe should have recognized it.
I had heard his name, but wouldn’t have placed him just hearing the name without context. i.e., “Right wing activist” or something.
I slightly prefer “no beans” on a chili dog, but I dont mind them.
Re: beans on a chili dog, it matters very little, if at all, to me.
But I chose “Beans” because the anti-bean crowd can be quite passionate; my choice in the poll simply means “beans are allowed.”
Yeah, unless we’re talking black beans, I won’t eat chili with beans. Period.
Mein Kampf was required reading for a class I took in college. My professor was considerate enough to arrange for us to purchase spiral bound copies from Kinkos that only had the name of the class on the cover.
Imagine infringing on poor Adolph’s copyrights like that!

I’ll eat a chili dog either way.
And I won’t jump to either conclusion about someone possessing that book without further info.
Indeed. “It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.” (Sherlock Holmes)
