Discussion thread for the "Polls only" thread (Part 2)

We were at St Johnsbury. Except we started from Vermont.

That’s the way to do it!

A friend had previously planned a gaming weekend in Vermont, ending Sunday. So a subset of that group booked another night, played some more games Sunday, and then drove from there. I got invited to the add-on part after i tested covid negative. (Having been uninvited from my Indiana plans, which needed more lead time.)

It worked much better than I had expected.

WI I go right down the middle?

Another vote for a needed ‘Other’!

Or “up”…

I have had tailored pants, yet no tailor has ever asked me that question.

Re: favorite teams.

It’s the NC State way.

Nor I. I actually thought the question was about lining up with other people in uniform, as I did when I was a Civil War reenactor, and getting the troops in proper order.

I would buy a widget endorsed by a hated politician unless I knew that he was making lots of money from the endorsement. Otherwise, cost is my key concern.

I usually watch and don’t skip intros while watching a show, unless the opening sequence is particularly long or has music I don’t like.

We were able to see the full solar eclipse yesterday from our backyard; my niece and her husband drove up from Columbus to see it with us. It was a warm spring day and the temperature dropped noticeably during totality. Our old dog didn’t react at all, but our neighbor’s dog barked nervously just before that. We could see a red solar prominence at about the 6:30 position during totality. Absolutely stunning to see that dark disc with its eerie white rim. Loved the experience.

I guess you could say that.

mmm

Sounds wonderful.

How do you vote in the eclipse poll if you did your best to see it but heavy clouds got in the way?

I mean, I saw it got dark. But at that point I couldn’t see the sky at all.

And I know what “dress right” and “dress left” mean – which is why I didn’t vote in that poll. I’m female. – isn’t it more the balls than the penis, though? If not, then maybe I don’t quite know what it means after all.

Well, the balls and penis generally go together. Although I’m thinking if I’m ever asked that question, I might say “balls left, penis right” and see what the reaction is.

I have no kids to leave anything to. So, things will go to my wife; if she precedes me, then to my nieces and nephew.

Maybe it’s obvious

“Left ball northwest, right ball southeast, penis in the DMZ.”

mmm

Interesting. So far, about 74% of Dopers have voted that they will either give almost everything - or give almost nothing - to their kids as an inheritance.

I voted nothing because I don’t have kids. We do plan to leave whatever’s left to my sister-in-law’s kids, but I have no idea whether that will be millions or just a nightmare of paperwork.

Right, but I didnt vote, Currently it is all left to my wife of course.

In an ideal world, I would leave most of my billions to my wife and children.

In the real world, I have neither billions, nor wife, nor children.
