“Zathras is used to being beast of burden to other people’s needs…very sad life…probably have very sad death…but, at least there is symmetry.”
“Zathras only pawn in game of interstellar life.”
“Why not? Only one human captain has survived battle with the Minbari. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else!”
Londo Mollari: Because I have asked you. Because your loyalty to our people should be greater than your ambition. And because I have poisoned your drink.
Cmdr. Ivanova: “I am the right hand of vengeance and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart! I am Death Incarnate, and the last living thing that you will ever see. God sent me.”
What I wear depends on where I am swimming, more often than not I in open water as 60 degrees or less so I wear a wetsuit. Very occasionally I will swim in a heated pool and wear what are basically speedos but with slightly longer legs (though much shoreter than jammers)
These days, a one-piece with swim shorts over it, because I feel stupid in a skirted suit, they don’t seem to make women’s boy-leg suits any longer, and the others are all cut so high now that I’d have to shave and I’m not gonna.
If nobody’s going to see me, or if everybody else is also, then birthday suit.
Please don’t piddle in the pool.
Welcome to our ool. Notice there’s no “p” in it. Please keep it that way.
Nope. We tested it.
First test- gave everyone the same astrology horoscope. Asked them if it described them. Most people said yes.
Next- gave everyone the same Meyers-briggs, then later the test. The people who tested the opposite of the given MB personality all said that was wrong. The more the opposite, the more it was voted wrong. But those who a close MB usually liked it. The first letter- Introverts vs Extroverts was the most clear division- Introverts did not like the Extrovert personality. That seems to be in line about what some experts say it fits well with Jung. In other words- MB has some validity, but is hardly 100% accurate. But astrology has 0 validity.
I dont pee in pools, but I do in the ocean.
The ocean’s nothing but a fish toilet.
Former lifeguard and pool manager here:
The urea to water ratio is already incredibly miniscule, no matter the pool size. Couple that with the fact the pumps circulate the entire volume in a pretty short time - every ten minutes for the pools I worked at. Pee away. There’s already ten thousand (proctoligst number) time more sweat and sloughed off skin cells in the water than urea.
Pee away.
Also: Watch your kids in the toddler pool. Seriously.
I have peed in lakes and the ocean. As best as I can recall I haven’t peed in a pool. Pools typically have bathrooms nearby, unlike natural bodies of water.
I wish @RollOutTheBarrel’s polls had asked “Have you peed in a pool as an adult?” While I don’t remember specifically, I think I must’ve peed in a pool at some point during childhood.
That’s a good point! I answered “no” because I don’t ever remember doing it (and I was trained from an early age to get out and go to the bathrooms if I needed to pee), but who knows what I was doing early on?
My bathing suit (in addition to being urine-free) consists of a tankini top with shorts. I’m much taller than the average woman and my torso is long, so one-piece suits never fit, and I feel like I’ve aged out of bikinis. It’s got nothing to do with modesty, either. If I’m at a clothing-optional pool, I’ll just go without in order not to have to deal with a special outfit to get wet in.
You are correct - the science backs you up. But then there is politeness.
I voted one piece suit. But also this.
Ditto.
My ideal weather depends a whole lot on what else the weather’s been doing for the previous week or two, and also somewhat on what I’m doing that day. The ideal weather for an outdoor farmers’ market is sunny and warm but not hot, with only a slight breeze. The ideal weather if it’s been raining for a week is sunny and moderately windy, to dry things out. The ideal weather when it’s been hot and dry for two weeks is a good steady 24 hour rain (but still preferably not till after the market closes.)
I couldn’t answer that one either. I mean, we get a whole lot of sunny days in the desert southwest, so after a couple of months of high temps and blue skies, I absolutely love an overcast, rainy day. Snow is magical for a couple of days per winter. Those would get old quickly, though.
