Do adjustable beds use voodoo?

I’ve had this question floating around in my head for a few days. You know the kind: “Hmm, we need more cat food.[sup]Yes, but how many licks DOES it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?[/sup]”*

I was watching a commercial for one of those adjustable beds, when I noticed something. The head of the bed was completely elevated, but the pillows magically stayed in place! Shocking, I know.

So how do they do that? Did the camera angle make it look steeper than it was, or do they actually have something holding the pillows in place? And what are they using? Velcro? Jedi skills? Voodoo?
*[sup]Everyone knows it takes an average of 16,507, so I don’t have to worry about that anymore.[/sup]

I’ve seen several models since i considered buying one for my father as he has bad back pains and sometimes has trouble getting up in the mornings (not your usual lazy don’t want to get out of bed thing)

one model i looked at had a bed spread where the pillows were affixed underneath

I think cotton against cotton has enough friction to keep the pillows upright. Polyester sheets and pillowcases might slump.

Yeah, these were just normal pillows. I think the reason I was so confused is because of the camera angle. After looking at some sites, I realized that none of the beds could’ve been at the extreme angle I thought they were. The people lying in them would’ve been crushed.

Anyway, I guess there’s only one way to find out for sure: Knock on someone’s door who has one, and demand to see their bed.
