Do men have a 'That Time of the Month'?

So I was banned for a month from the SDMB because a little over a month ago I was being a real dick on this message board, I still think my interlocutors were being nasty too, so I don’t want to get into the right or wrong of it, just using it to point out a timeline.

On another board that I post on I was being kind of pissy for the last week right up to my ban being lifted here on the SDMB.

Today I feel fine and am a little low on energy but otherwise in a good mood.

I reckon our ‘time of the month’ exists, but isn’t monthly, more erratic.

Farting around on Google a bit, I saw some mention that we do, but our cycles are 24 hours, not 28 days. I also read the claim that we have a different cycle of 74-78 days.

But nothing I read comes close to anything like a peer-reviewed study. It was all speculation.

Sure we have a time of the month. It’s the time when we get lots of shouting and no sex.

I think the 24-hour thing was in an episode of Sliders. Um, not that I turn to that show for science.

It turns out that men have PMS the same as women. Except for men it’s permanent.

No, but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t sometimes in a bad mood–for instance because we’ve been fired or dumped, or a relative died or something.

Never watched it.

The couple of sources I found said that testosterone levels cycle over that period of time.

NO, we Effin’ don’t.

leave me alone

Are you calling me FAT?!?!!!? ::runs away sobbing::

My husband tends to get morose for a few days every 60-90 days. In between, he’s still enough of a grumpy old man that I encourage him to put on his black socks and sandals and get outside with the hose to spray the whippersnappers when they get too close to the lawn.

I definitely go through cycles of high energy/good mood to low energy/bad mood – they seem to stretch about 6 weeks.
