Currently, I think the national percentage (United States) is around 60%. It goes up or down depending on what area you’re in–I believe the midwest is still around 80% circumcision rate.
I personally much prefer the au natural. Don’t honestly think I could go back.

The circumcision rate for 1999 is 58.8% with a corresponding intact rate of 41.2%. The last time the circumcision rate was this low was around 1934, 64 years ago. In 1979 an estimated 15% of boys retained their normal penis,9 compared with the 41.2% intact rate for 1999. The intact rate has increased 275%, or almost three-fold, during that twenty-year period. This is anecdotal but in my experience, there are very few women who will date only “uncut” men, but many who will date only circumcised men. Or, I should say, many who have at least led me to believe they are happy that I am circumcised, and that they think uncircumcised penes are scary and/or icky.

It might also be noted that most mainstream porn depicts circumcised men, perhaps alluding that they are more attractive.

I’ve only ever had one girlfriend comment on my foreskin, and she was in favour. Her previous lovers had all been circumcised.

My other girlfriends I guess were equally experienced or inexperienced with whole and circumcised, and didn’t make any comment. Circumcision runs at about 50% in Australian men my age, and I understand that it is rather less common in youngsters.

Well, having had the opportunity to perform a, ummmm, longitudinal study, I can honestly say it’s pretty darn unimportant to me as long as proper hygiene practices are observed.

As for gay men: well, a good HS buddy of mine who now lives in the Bay Area is gay, and we were actually talking about this issue just the other day (a mutual friend is about to have a baby boy, and being Jewish but a hippie, is curently having this very debate with her husband). He swears that uncircumsized men have a great deal more sensation, because 80% of the nerves in that general neck of the woods pass through the foreskin. And he’s a biologist by education.
