Do you brush your teeth in the shower?

Of course. I shower, shave my head and brush my teeth all during the same rotation. Saves time, effort and clean-up.

I picked “Other” because I did try once, but it didn’t seem to be saving me any time and it felt awkward.

For maximal efficiency, you could also micturate. I hear this might even help cure tinea pedis, or at least give you a smug sense of superiority over your feet’s fungal foes.

Nope. Shaving in the shower makes sense and I’ve done that in the past. You need your face to be exposed to hot water which is present in the shower. But, brushing your teeth seems kinda pointless, it’s not like it is a task that takes that much longer and I’ve always used cold water.

No but hell no was the closest answer. Better multitasking is turning on the shower to get the warm water flowing as I brush. I don’t really see being able to do much else at the time I am brushing my teeth while showering. If I am pressed for time the shower might only take around a minute anyway. It’s not like I have a free hand and am just standing around doing nothing if time matters.

Sometimes.

Yes. We have one of those shower units that holds shampoo bottles, razors, etc. I keep a toothbrush from the dentist’s office on there, along with whatever random, partially-used tube of toothpaste. I will usually brush there in the morning, and have an electric toothbrush and another tube of toothpaste on the counter, for the evening brush.

It is very convenient and as stated, you get to be in the shower a couple more minutes.

Our dentist gives us toothbrushes and travel toothpastes all the time, so there is no shortage of them in our house.

No, but I have been known to set my showerhead on “shred skin” and apply it to my teeth, in lieu of my Waterpik.

That’s what I do!

Yes. I have two minutes while I leave the conditioner in my hair. I just don’t want to stand there, so brushing teeth fills the time. Much more efficient.

You could make your salad there, too. All you need is to install a garbage disposal in your shower drain.

As for the OP: No. I leave my teeth on the vanity countertop when I’m taking a shower.

I have a few times, Ms. P does on a regular basis. I agree about not brushing teeth with hot water. I never saw anyone do it until gf before Ms. P. I never saw her brush hers in the shower, though.

I have a thingy for my toothbrush and the toothpaste goes on the shelf with the shampoo, and scrubs and scented bars and gels and, well, it’s more than one shelf.

So convenient.

No, never. But I shave while peeing.

It takes a couple days for rinsing your mouth with warm water to seem normal, but then it avoids problems with teeth that are thermally sensitive. And you no longer have to do contortions to drink from the bathroom tap; no longer risk toothpaste spray around the basin.

I just shampoo, rinse, then apply the conditioner before I wash my body so it sits there for a few minutes.

The idea wouldn’t have occurred to me without this thread - umm, no. Staph bacteria and toothpaste in the shower - no.

I think it is interesting idea. I do not brush in front of a mirror so it could work. I can not because I do not have any place to put the brush in the shower. I have limited shelf/rack whatever space.

No. My parents hammered into me that you turn the water off while brushing your teeth.
