David Lander.
Yes. Went to same college as he (and Lenny) did.
Yup. 45.
Who would have thought that Lenny would have gone on to be the much more well known star?
Then again, I doubt Peter Scolari would have thought his co-star in Bosom Buddies would go on to be an A list actor.
David L. Lander, if we’re going to be picky.
Without looking, I’m going to say he has something to do with that show Laverne and Shirley (Lenny and Squiggy maybe?) but I haven’t ever seen an episode.
Age 44
I’m 36, and yeah, this. He’s the short one, right?
My thought process:
‘Yes, I do. … Wait, he WAS the one not played by Mike McKean, right? … … Yes, he was. I think. Yes. … Yes.’
32 years old, lived entire life in US, honestly had never heard of this character ever before.
Googled it and Oh, he was a character on Laverne & Shirley? Guess I know that show, though I’ve never seen a full episode
I’m more surprised there aren’t more that haven’t heard of him, especially in my age box.
>50. In fact, >60.
Yup.
- Yes.
Loved the show. Tried a Pepsi float, even, thanks to Laverne. Never again.
- Laverne and Shirley came on about a month before I left the US to live in England in 1976. I really, really liked the first few episodes, but when I came back 14 months later, it had degenerated into what looked like a parody of The Lucy Show.
Cold milk and Pepsi, mmmmmmmmmmmm! Just like drinking an ice-cream float! Yum-O!
Some how, I had gotten it into my little head that if I pour the milk into the pepsi, it would swirl? I tried it and that didn’t happen at all, of course. It just clouded up into a muddy mix. But why did I *think *it would swirl? Did Laverne have a favorite glass that *looked *like swirls?
Childs’ play. Carmine Ragussa would have been a more worthy question.
You need to get the right order when pouring for the milk and Pepsi thing to work, like acid and water. One of them curdles. Unfortunately, as I only ever did that in the context of a drink called a Paralyzer, where the first thing to go into the glass is the tequila, I can’t for the life of me remember which one gets poured into which.
- No. I remember he was on The Simpsons once, but that’s all I can say.
So…we’re not talking about Princess Diana?
40-50, and yes I knew it. Funny thing is while I know I watched the show I don’t remember a thing about it except the 4 characters of Laverne, Shirley, Lenny, and Squiggy.
The trick is that you need to use whole milk, which does not exist in my home.
I knew immediately. I tend to remember useless crap like that. I didn’t even like the show. I also remember him in Used Cars. And somehow I remember an interview he did about having MS when he mentioned being in the hospital at the same time as Andy Kaufman and seeing him shortly before he died. Then I remembered that Phil Foster who played Laverne’s father was supposed to be mobbed up and a big coke dealer. I wish I could remember important stuff.
That is what first came to me, too:
But that was Squidgy, not Squiggy.
