Do you know who "Squiggy" is?

I was going to post the exact same thing.

Thanks for the responses.

I was asking because my GF and I are the same age (35) and while watching a show I made a reference to Squiggy and she didn’t know what the hell I was talking about. “You know… ‘Squiggy!’”

Michael Lander was on the related series Highway to Milwaukee.

Yes. 33. We watched it when I was a little kid: Mom came from Milwaukee, so she particularly liked it. I think, I THINK, that it was Bosom Brothers, then Laverne and Shirley, then Taxi, then the Carol Burnett Show. I may have the middle two transposed. We would sit in the living room around the old coffee table – my parents on the sofa, me cross-legged on the floor.

My memories of being two, three, and four years old are occasionally surprisingly vivid.

If you have kids and they watch Nick Jr. you probably hear his unmistakable voice every day. He voices Henry the Penguin on the show Oswald.
Since I hear it playing in the background but never watch the screen I just picture Squiggy the whole time.

I believe that was Jon Lovitz.

I’m 44, I know who Squiggy is and coincidentally I just finished Penny Marshall’s My Mother Was Nuts last night.

I’ll be fifty in a week and not only do I know who it is, I do a fantastic imitation of him. I’m a lady, btw.

To this day, whenever I write “Hello” at the beginning of an e-mail (without adding a name after it), I hear Squiggy’s voice saying it as he barges into Laverne & Shirley’s apartment with Lenny in tow.

“Buddies.” “Bosom Buddies.” Two dudes in drag.

That is one helluva lineup! They just don’t make comedies like that anymore. :frowning:

No. But she was on the radio shortly before she passed away. and on the windows, and the seats, and the dash…

They were both in that movie.

I said yes but it’s more like I’m vaguely aware that there was a guy named Squiggy on I think Laverne and Shirley. But there was only a yes or no option.

Squiggy is one of the great characters of American fiction. Not know who Squiggy is? WHAT ARE THEY TEACHING IN SCHOOLS THESE DAYS?

Assuming you mean the supporting character from Laverne & Shirley, yes. If you mean somebody else, nay.

Yep, 31 though I’ve got three older sisters and two older brothers. I also watched a bunch of reruns on channels like Nick at Nite.

I’m more impressed that you know who Percy Percy is!

The Big Ragoo!

Lander voiced one of Judge Doom’s weasel accomplices in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”

Yes, and I’m 56.

Eddie Mekka who played Carmine Ragusa on Laverne and Shirley was also in A League of Their Own. He was one of the guys dancing in the bar with Lori Petty and Madonna.

It’s one of my favorite movies!

This.

Fuck I hated that show. I hated Happy Days too. I hate a lot of TV. (I’m 50.)
