Do you prefer your pickles sliced or whole?

YES! YES! A thousand times, YES!

I like a pickle spear with my sub sandwich.

A whole pickle would be too much.

I buy my pickles whole, because I eat them with sandwiches and burgers and I slice them the way I like myself.

Burgers get pickle chips but ham and cheese sandwiches get Spears on the side.

I never eat pickles by themselves, just not my thing.

[ul][li]Spears, sometimes, but only ever as a side to a good deli sandwhich. [/li][li]Sliced across, like coins? ONLY if fried. [/li][*]Sliced across, in 1"+ chunks? Mmmm, garlicky & delish!!![/ul]

Depends on the type and size of the pickle and how it’s sliced.

If someone could tell me where to get a decent pickle in the uk I’d be forever grateful. We moved here three years ago, and had I known about the pickle situation I might have reconsidered the move.

Our friends brought us back a jar of vlasic on their last trip to Canada and I just ate the last one! Dammit.

We’ve tried SO MANY pickles, and haven’t found a single one we like. Some were so bad we threw out the whole jar.

On a more positive note, we still have many packets of Swiss chalet dipping sauce left. Should get us to the next trip home or the next visit from relatives.

I like pickles sliced and whole. On a sandwich, obviously sliced. And I’ll also eat them right out of the jar.

“What about the pickle slicer?”

“She got fired, too.”

Moved to Cafe from IMHO.

I prefer taking small bites to taking big bites, so I like pickle spears better than whole pickles. I like sliced apples and hamburgers (!) better as well.

Quartered, not as chips, though.

No. My brother likes pickles by themselves cut into spears.

:smack: Would you believe that I was thinking about specifying, but I couldn’t remember the word for the opposite of spear slices?

I figured it was one of those. :o

Whole pickles can be used as sex toys, slices not so much.

Not after they fired the pickle slicer anyway.

I really need to try fried pickles. I like fried cucumbers, even if they are a bit bland.

I’d just be worried the extra juice would make them take a while to cook, unless you mean breaded and deep fried.

I hate the taste/texture of pickles*, but the smell of whole pickles in brine is soooooooo good (and the sliced ones don’t have the same smell), so I voted “whole”.
*Because they’re part of the whole “cucumbers=evil” thing.

I voted “Who cares, a pickle’s a pickle!” and would like to add “I would not eat them in a box, I would not eat them in a box” and maybe something about cucumbers being gross already, but then soaked in evil.

I love to eat my pickles in quarter spears, and when they’re all gone, I sip the brine from the jar…

…or dunk Cheetos into it.

Oh. I only like dills, so I didn’t think of any other kind.

I like Bread & Butter pickled pigs feet, thin biased-sliced.

I know a place that serves pickle fries. Pickles sliced frenchfry style, lightly breaded, deep fried and served with an aioli dipping sauce. Heavenly.
