Do you wear your wireless device(s)?

I have three wireless devices: a mobile phone, a Blackberry and a pager (don’t ask). At least three times a week I wear one or two clipped to the waistband of my slacks. It’s geeky and I hate when I have to but sometimes, as the saying goes, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I almost always wear them when I’m in the office but not in my office. I usually wear them when I’m putting out fires and need to be reached or need to respond to calls/email/pages immediately. Every now and again I’ll forget to remove them and leave the office looking like a total geek.

I always get a chuckle out of mobile phones struggling to hold on for dear life to the waistbands of pants with beer bellies flopping over them. When I wear mine, I try to clip it/them towards the back of my pants (if my waist was a clock and my belly button was 12:00, my device(s) would be clipped at 4:00).

So, do you wear your mobile devices? Where? How many? How often?

I keep my phone in my pocket and my BlackBerry in my drawer. I never carry it around with me.

I have my phone clipped at about 4:00 when I am not at work, but the second I open the door to my office, it goes right on my desk, and there it stays all day long. I generally hate wearing it, and any chance I have to ditch it, I will.

I usually wear my phone on the charger at home, no matter where I am.

I wear my cell phone clipped to my pants pocket. But it hangs inside, so you can only see the back of the clip. It’s either there or on my desk. It’s comfortable, I almost never notice it’s there and all around convenient.

Are any of you concerned about cancer? Just curious, since some people make a big deal about cell phones and brain cancer, but I never hear anything about other cancers. Those things are on the whole time and near such organs as kidneys, liver, prostrate, testes, ovaries, etc.

Has a definitive link between mobile phone usage and tumors been established? How about one between radio waves and tumors?

I wear my knife on my belt - doesn’t have a wire attached to it at all.

The only wireless I have, is the by extension the only wireless I wear: my cell phone. It is usually stuck into it’s small (and discrete) black leather holder, and clipped to my front left pocket. (Or, on the waistband and a bit further off to the side if there is no pocket to clip it to.)

I wear it most of the time, except when I’m at home.

<< Don’t make up your mind until you have to. >>

I keep mine in my pocket, and on vibrate. I feel silly having a phone attached to me, in plain view for everybody to see. Unless I’m in costume at a Star Trek convention, in which case it completes the outfit.

I also hate it when my phone somehow gets switched to ring, and it goes off in any public place. I feel exactly as humiliated as if I had farted out loud.

I have a cell phone/Palm PDA combination device (the Kyocera QCP 6035 Smartphone, if you’re curious) parked at about 3 o’clock. I carry it pretty much everywhere out of habit, but I really don’t make or receive that many calls while I’m on the go and I’m certainly not above ignoring the phone if it rings and I’m otherwise occupied. I favor being in control of my technology, not the other way around.

Handspring PDA with VisorPhone, at 9 o’clock, in red neoprene case.

waering a cellphone clipped to your belt is geeky? Why? everyone has it. Its not an exclusive geek tool anymore. Its a device for my use and convenience. I wear it where it will be useful and convenient for me to have.

Hate those ulta mini phones you can slip into your pocket… theyre so …girly!
