Personally, I don’t. I refuse.
I follow the issues, listen to the candidates, judge the various opinions, and on election day I take my ballot, close my eyes, and hope my pencil hits the paper;)
However, I don’t see what possible difference it makes if I know who won this evening or tomorrow morning, or even the end of the week!
What say you? Do you follow the “action?”
I follow it. I don’t sit and stare at the TV, but once an hour I will log on and see how a few key races are progressing.
Of course, I really enjoy watching floor votes on C-SPAN so I may be a little nutty to begin with.
I have more than a passing fancy in the process and yes, I do watch the returns. I actually give a few bucks to quite a few national like-minded candidates, so I’m always interested whether or not they won despite the fact that I cannot vote for most of them.
Maybe I’m like the guy who can’t watch a football game unless he’s got some action riding on the outcome.
I can also see how most people (especially non-voters) could wait until the next day to (most likely) to learn of the outcome.
Since I actually care this time (this is the first non-presidential election year I voted) I did tune in tonight long enough to see how things were progressing.
Lorenzo, you might be on to something there. Maybe betting on election outcomes will catch on
