I like them. My wife really likes them!
I don’t always like Sookie and her decisions but I think that’s what makes them good books to me.
I think the sex was emphasized because, being a telepath, it was very tough to be with a guy when all he had was sex on the brain. She was/is a typical girl who wanted a knight but could hear every thought. So, she was a virgin and it was a big deal when she lost her virginity.
What I have gotten out of them is that these could be Old World of Darkness RPG novels easily. There are politics and manipulations and other things happening around Sookie that she doesn’t always see or understand. That’s the level of the books that interests me in them.
I don’t like Rachel Morgan, and my wife does, because again I thought she was too whiny, especially in situations that she put herself in. Get over it!
