Does anyone else tend to wear only one or two colours?

As I was folding my t-shirts yesterday, I realised that every single garment in the drawer was either black, or wine through primary red. Upon inspection of my closet, almost everything is black or burgundy through purple, aside from my jeans, which are dark.

While folding Mr. Lissar’s shirts, I noticed that almost everything he wears is green or varying shades of brown.

At least we harmonize nicely in colour.

We know a girl who almost always wears white. I think I’ve seen her in light beige once, but that’s the darkest thing she wears.

Does anyone else have really distinct colour drifting in their wardrobes? What colours do you wear predominantly?

Black. You just can’t go wrong with it. It goes with everything. Oh, of course we have to be awkward and have a shiny white cat who sheds over everything! Other than that, I wear black.

Light blue, gray, light green. It’s weird, but I feel kind of conspicuous wearing anything in the yellow to red region.

I tend towards cool colours myself–a lot of blue, but also purple, burgundy, occasionally green–as well as brown and hot pink. I also tend towards darker colours, so I have a fair bit of black, but otherwise there’s actually a decent spread of colours, with a few lighter shades to offset the rest of my wardrobe. You’d never find me in anything light pink, yellow or orange though, and rarely bright red.

Mom once made a comment about me always buying blue (my favorite colour), but looking through what I have with me for this trip home, I have burgundy, hot pink, neon green, light brown, grey camo and the shirt I’m wearing is purple.

Black, grey, blue, and white. Usually solid colours.

Black, grey, brown, blue.

In fact, right now it’s blue jeans and everything else is black.
Even my jacket.

Mostly black, blue and grey. I own some pink and red, but I don’t really like wearing pink and red. I think it makes me look wimpy. I am wimpy, of course, but I don’t have to look it.

I have a friend who only wears black. But she gets a lot of flak for that, so when she starts a new job, she goes the first two weeks wearing blues and greens and whites, no blacks at all. After those two weeks, she goes back to her regular all-black wardrobe. She says it works: people then get so used to seeing her in colors that she can go for a year or more before anyone notices that all she wears is black.

I didn’t realize that I only wore a few colors (earth tones) until I bought a pink sweater on sale and shcoked my co-workers. “You’re wearing pink? I thought you had some sort of a moral objection to pastels!”

I almost never wear purple, yellow, or pink, but other than that, my wardrobe is pretty evenly dispersed across the spectrum. Perhaps a bit skewed towards greens and blues.

Mostly everything I have is some kind of muted khaki, tan or beige. Sweaters and shirts almost all the same. The exceptions are some blue things. Summer time will get me into some brighter colors but that’s not a lot.

I have two suits, five dress shirts and four ties. I could blindly pick a tie/shirt combo with either of the suits and look fine.

I am the ultimate Garranimal.

I usually wear a black T-shirt, jeans, and suspenders. My daughter says I’m like a cartoon character - always dressed exactly the same way.

As I guy I want as many shirts and ties to be compatable so there is a color narrowing. I also think people look good in certain colors based on hair color and skin tone. I’ve never worn purple or pink and rarely buy red or orange. I’ve got plenty of blue, tan, yellow and cranberry with a few green items.

A lot of black, red, and blue for me, too, but I try to vary it up with yellow and green and the occasional pink.

At first I thought the OP was about wearing one or two colors, like one color on the bottom, one on top, no prints, no scarves, vests or jackets. Because that’s what I do – very boring and unadventurous.

I wear darks – black and grey mostly. In the summer I’ll wear white and lighter greens and coral, but never pastels, never pink or yellow or light blue.

Everything in my closet is a solid color, except for a “Christmas” shirt that has some embroidery at the neckline. I’m very unimaginative.

Not counting business wear (in which I have to wear a suit), I don’t tend to any particular colors, but have noticed that almost all of what I wear is drab. I love dark and drab clothing. Right now I’m wearing a drab grey flannel-ish shirt with navy slacks, and yesterday I wore a black shirt with thin blue and grey stripes. Even my ties tend towards greys and muted colors. Bright color and shinyness is anathema to me.

I look horrid in black. I also look horrid in yellow and some oranges, so I avoid those three colors. I went through a period when I only wore black, and I have learned the error of my ways. Now I only wear colors that look good on me. Every cool color I’ve tried looks good on me, and quite a few of the warm colors look good too. I don’t wear white, not because it doesn’t look good on me, but because I am not as careful as I could be when it comes to avoiding stains. Life is for living, not for avoiding stains.

Almost every garment I own is cotton, or mostly cotton. I have a wool ruana and a polyester shawl, but those are for warmth, and they don’t touch my bare skin.

I tend to have a pretty broad range of colours in my wardrobe, except yellow.

I look terrible in yellow - like I have jaundice.

I do wear a lot of red though, and when I buy accessories I’m drawn to red. Red glasses, red shoes and boots (11 pairs!), red handbags (6!), red key fob, red wallet, red glasses case, red coats, red scarfs/mits/hats, red compacts, etc, etc…

I always seem to have some red somewhere, but I don’t do it purposfully - it just seems to happen.

As a matter of interest, I have NO red anywhere in my house (well, in a couple of pieces of art). It strikes me as odd.

White, light blue, grey.

But I have many and varied t-shirts with a lot of different designs, prints, sayings and colors for really casual wear.

Lots of different baseball caps, floppy fishing hats, and knit caps, too.

Almost all of my husband’s clothes are dark blue or black. He’s a walking bruise.

I only have one pair of jeans, and pretty much only black t-shirts and black shirts.
