If you haven’t joined us before, look for a large and rowdy group of people! I recommend a look at the SD People Pages before you come, to get an idea of who you’re looking for. I’ll try to remember to bring nametags, which people will use to identify themselves as almost anyone besides themselves, so they won’t be that much help if I do. (I dibs FormerAgent! :D)
CPK at 4, eh? Well, I’ll certainly try to make it, but I’m still a little under the weather and can’t make a firm promise. Plus, I am in actuality a pretty shy fellow and I’m a little overwhelmed at the prospect of discovering that all of you are actual human beings instead of just words on a computer screen. I’ll give it a go, though.
Get off Beltway at OLD Va. Exit 1, second ramp (Rt 1, north - Alexandria). It’s the second ramp, regardless of which direction you’re coming from.
Go north on Rt 1 for several lights to King Street. Turn right on King. Start looking for parking right away, because the CPK’s at 700 King St., which is only a few blocks away.
Um, does anyone living near enough the Fort Meade area feel like giving Bluesman and I a ride? As the person who suggested both date and time for this illustrious fest, I sure would love to be there, but about 4 hours ago our one and only vehicle vomited it’s transmission all over I-95. (Yes, I have had a shitty night. :()
I found out that there’s a place called Xando/Cosi’s at 700 King Street.
I got lost on the way back.
So . . . having already been to Xando’s (a few weeks ago) . . . if people still want to do it there, there’s plenty of parking there and near there. Food is rather good, but also somewhat pricy (a sandwich is $7.00, with a side of cole slaw).
Does FairyChatMom have board access right now? Do we have any way to let her know that the venue has been changed? If someone has her real name, the number at the Comfort Inn at which she is staying is 703-765-9000.
