pld - She doesn’t have board access, but I called her earlier this evening. She knows where to find us tomorrow.
iampunha - sorry you got your days confused! See you tomorrow at Bertucci’s.

Bertucci’s, 4pm, 725 King Street, Alexandria.
Ask for the Cecil Adams party - that’s how I made the reservation.
I was wondering whose name it would be under. We’ll see you there at 4 or 4:30. Yes, “we” - I think I convinced Mrs. O to go. She doesn’t get the Straight Dope either but I told her if I didn’t get out of the house I was gonna go bugf*ck and I still had this crazy notion that I enjoyed doing things with her. She smiled at that one so I think we’ll both be there.
No Tzeroling, though. This is grown-up time for us.
A whole bunch of us showed, and I don’t know what they were talking about most of the time at the far end of the table, but at my end we were having a pretty lively time, and things sure weren’t any quieter down at the other end!
“My end of the table” consisted of me, Falcon, Bluesman, Lucretia, FairyChatMom, and (getting toward the middle) Jess and weirddave. The other end had Sqrl and dcnewsman, Olentzero and Mrs. O, pld and Peta, Althea, Captain Amazing, and iampunha.
I had brought your standard-issue nametags and a magic marker for writing names, and almost immediately the lying began: Lucretia turned herself into Jack Dean Tyler, Jess became Wildest Bill, iampunha topped Lucretia, so to speak, by labelling himself as “Jack Dean Tyler’s foreskin”, and, to get myself in the maximum amount of trouble, I wrote “webmastr” on my nametag.
When Peta showed up, she brought along very cool pre-printed nametags for everybody. She was still under the weather, and it was awfully nice of her to do that for us while she was sick. Hell, it would have been awfully nice anyway.
It was great to meet FairyChatMom, who fit in very well with this bunch of crazies on her first-ever Dopefest. I’m sorry I didn’t get to talk with Mrs. O, Althea, and Captain Amazing, but hopefully another time.
Joy and I had a great time too. She was glad to see somebody she knew; I was just glad to get out of the house for a while. I was sorry to leave so early but we had to stay on the Tzeroling’s friend’s mother’s good side (isn’t there some grammatical rule about stringing possessives together like that?).
For the record, I would like to publicly apologize to RTFirefly for being foul-mouthed at him directly. I was going for funny and well overshot the mark. mumble mumble drinking too fast mumble mumble…
Other than that I had a great time, altho’ I was sorry I didn’t get a few words in with the guest of honor. Y’all were hogging her at the other end of the table! Hope the rest of your stay isn’t too spiritually deadening, FairyChatMom!
All I can say, Jeff, is that I have no recollection of your having done anything obnoxious or out of line. (At a gathering with the likes of Falcon, weirddave, and pldennison, you’ve got to work hard to stand out in that regard! ;)) I’m just sorry I didn’t get to talk with you and Joy for more than about 30 seconds. See you at the next one - which I know you’re not going to miss!
