Okay, '80s movie.

Kid gets abducted by an alien spacecraft. Spacecraft looks something like a cross between a football and the headgear worn in the movie Predator. Eventually gets returned, but due to flying around at near light speed about 15 years have passed back on earth.

Memorable Scenes:
All the alien “pets” on the ship dancing to the Beach Boys.
Ship stops at a remote intersection in California so the kid can ask for directions back to his hometown.
Kid falls into a coma and some sort of EEG printout makes the outline of the spacecraft.

Any guesses?

Sounds like ‘Flight of the Navigator’. Pee Wee Herman as the voice of the ship.

I haven’t thought about that movie in years, but I seem to recall that I rather liked it in my younger days. It’s got the scene were the protagonist asks for a Coke and is confronted by Cherry Coke, Coke II, regular Coke, Diet Coke and probably a couple others, doesn’t it? If not, what the hell am I thinking of?
