This has been driving me nuts. I’ve got a snippet of some 80s song running around my head and I can’t remember the name or artist, so I thought I’d bring my problem to the biggest think tank I know of.
“And when I close my eyes, I feel you are here, near me again…”
We’re going to need some more information. Fast or slow? Early, middle or late 80s? What style? The one line that you did quote is straight out of the Generic Crappy Song Fakebook.
This is my first time posting, and I think I can point you to a place that can help! Go to http://www.80s.com and click on the Message Board. People really know they’re 80’s trivia there. Good luck!
Yeah, I know - not exactly profound and insightful.
I’ll give you some background here. My brother and I have this thing (nostalgia? obsession?) about eighties top 40 music. He got a CD burner not so long ago and offered to make me the ultimate 80s mix, so lately I’ve been racking my brain trying to remember some of the more obscure top 40 songs. So far, so good - but now I’ve hit a brick wall.
It was a pretty low key song- slowish, but exactly slow. Sluggish, perhaps? It reminds me a bit of I can dream about you by Dan Hartman. The pacing and style are somewhat similar (except that I can dream about you speeds up in the chorus).
As far as timing goes, I’m pretty sure this was early to mid eighties (83-35).
