More classic rock: Which song is this?

The lead singer sounds like Klaus Meine (Scorpions), but I’m not certain… the lyrics start go like this:

Deep in the night, when I’m alone
My heart starts to burn, 'cause I feel for you
I’ve been away too long from my love
I leave it up to you, to understand

I’ve got this feeling, deep in my mind
come back and love me, just one more time
on the ground of an ocean we buried our love, far away
my heart’s still bleeding, won’t you come back and stay

I can’t understand, why there’s salt in my eyes
I can’t understand, why your heart’s in disguise
For I still need you, I want you to come back again
You make me feel, never again
Any ideas?

You Make Me Feel — Bonfire

Don’t get me wrong, I’m as nostalgiac as anyone else when it comes to rehashing 80’s tunes, but just so you know, a much quicker method of ID’g your song exists.

Just plug the lyrics you know into Google and check out the results. If the song isn’t on the first page, you’ve either misheard the lyrics or chosen a song that’s totally obscure and off the charts.

Excuse me, but when did bands from the 80s come to be considered “Classic Rock”? I thought the 80s were “retro”.

Not retro,

sucky.

That’s what I normally do, and most times it does work. In this case though, it didn’t. Obscure band, I guess…

I’m not trying to be snarky, but a Google of the very first line turns up You Make Me Feel in the first three results. Maybe you didn’t put quotes around your search terms to force Google to find the entire phrase? Just trying to help with future Google searches.

I think it was Ri… :: instantly gang-tackled and deservedly beaten ::

Retro is defined as “This sucked, but we’re going to play³ it anyway.”
3- or “repackage,” “cover” or “reminisce about.”

:smack: Nope, no quotes. Funnily, this is the only time I’ve ever had this problem - I’ve never used quotes while searching for song names this way! Thanks for the tip though.

Nope…not any more - my “Classic Rock” station down here has lots and lots of 80s hits that it plays. I’ve come to the conclusion that there are 3 stages of a person’s life:

  1. You heae a song as a kid and really like it - it’s played in heavy rotation on your local Top 40 station.
  2. Once you get to your early 30s or so that song is now played on the “Classic Rock” station every so often.
  3. Finally, you’re in your rocking chair in your late 70s and you hear that same song, only now you can only hear it on the “Oldies” staion.
