Okay, I don’t retch when I see it, but I don’t turn on the TV just for it. The first ep was kinda good, then it all went downhill. Now I hate it just as much as everyone else.
I think what’s really grating about it is that it’s written and acted so horribly. I watched the first one because I thought the premise sounded kind of funny and I also thought it was a one time made-for-tv movie.
Of course it sucked anyway. It’s like second graders trying to do adult humor, and I’ve seen better acting in traffic court.
vandal, yes I did. Mr. Show with Bob & David was one of my favourite shows (I watched re-runs on the Comedy Channel up here in Canada). It was a very funny show.
The show does not amuse me, but I have listened to a few episodes while my 19 year old Brother-in-Law watched (computer is in the same room as the TV). I am not interested in defending it, particularly, but I do want to point out that it is highly stylized–I am almost certain that the bad acting and bad writting are deliberate. So critiizing it on those grouds isn’t really appropriate. The same thing goes for the main charecter’s appearance. She is supposed to be unattractive. God knows that the way she looks, is about how many of us thought we looked to our classmates in highschool (except with acne instread of wrinkles), and I rather think that is the point.
Don’t get me wrong, it is a horrible show. But it is intended to be.
I watched the first episode of SWC, and just couldn’t find it amusing. I tried, but it just wasn’t happening. I tried to watch UCB too, but that one doesn’t do a thing for me either.
I did like the team name for the SWC high school, though. The Concrete Donkeys? That gave me a chuckle.
