Does NADS work?

This is a pretty simple question. My girlfriend and I were watching lame Sunday morning TV, and I think that she actually watched about a half hour of the NADS infomercial. The question is simple: does it really work?

Mine don’t, but I had their plumbing altered on purpose.

I use a product that’s somewhat similar to 'Nads…it’s a sugaring gel. Ummmmm, I think it’s Sally Hansen Cold Wax. Yes, it does work. Yes, it DOES hurt more or less, depending on where the hair is being removed. And yes, the hair regrowth is sparser and finer. Sugaring is something like waxing, except that you don’t have to heat the compound, and it seems to be gentler on your skin. I don’t know if I’d try it on my eyebrows, though. I consider 'Nads to be overpriced, but then perhaps it really DOES work ten times better than the stuff that I regularly use. I’ll probably never know, unless someone gives me a sample of it so I can test it, because I’m sure not shelling out the money for that.

Glancing at the thread title, I imagined it was the slang word for gonads . . . I was gonna say, hey, works for me!

I couldnt get it to work for me. Its all a matter of timing, apparently… and if you leave it on your skin for too long… it heats up too much and wont work right or some nonsense… it was alot more trouble than it was worth and I ended up having to pluck anyhow.

This question was examined by a local teen-oriented consumer show (Street Cents, for those Canadians among us). Their basic conclusion was that NADS didn’t live up to its claims of painlessness or ease of use, and there are other, cheaper equivalents available. You can find the whole report here

The first time I saw the Nads commercial I laughed so hard I nearly peed. However, after staying up late for way too many nights and watching the Nads commercial (it’s strangely fascinating) I bought some.

In the past I have used regular wax; you know, the kind you have to heat up…and Nads is almost the same. The main difference is you don’t have to heat it up! Also, you can use the same strip about 4-5 times, you just have to wiggle it around to catch all the hair. Oh yeah, your hair does have to be at least 1/4 inch long for it to work.

As for their claims of being pain-free…they are bull. Nads hurts only slightly less than other wax.

I’m happy with it, though it could be cheaper.

I can’t believe they would name their hair removal product “Nads”. It’s from Australia, maybe the word doesn’t mean the same thing Down Under. Any Aussies care to comment?
