The billboard for one of the local wingnut AM talk radio shows promoted itself with the tagline “Liberals hate it!”. This was like 7 years ago. They’re really like children… invent a bogeyman (in this case the apocryphal “libral”), endow it with all the attributes you hate, and then taunt and belittle it.

Based on the way Obama used it and Gibb explained it, I take it to mean something like nervous, or perhaps all aflutter or something to that effect.
Where Palin held her baby shower is of no concern to me so I have to go with no. (And I love that Obama passes the spell check while Palin gets the nice red underline in Chrome)

I was thinking that it sounds like something they would have done on Roseanne. And that would have been done as a ‘look at the ridiculous things that poor people with no taste do’.

What a highly inappropriate location, not only are you exposing people who may or may not be familiar with firearms with exposure what even professionals consider potentially a less than safe environment, considering the air born levels of heavy metal contamination [primarily lead and bismouth] you now have contamination on all the presents opened at the site. Considering that heavy metal toxicity has some of its greatest impact at the beginnings of childhood development, the resultant exposure would have had a greater influence than many other environmental considerations.

Eh, I’m willing to overlook that one as a simple verbal gaffe rather than actual ignorance. Anyway, a President Palin would have lots of aides around to say “beg your pardon, Madam President—but I believe you mean ‘commence bombing of North Korea’?”

Slip of the tongue, maybe, but probably just a product of not really having a grasp on which side is which. The book Game Plan said that Palin did not know Korea was two countries during her debate prep, and it wouldn’t surprise me if she still had trouble remembering which ones were the commies.
