I do sleep better with a furry someone snuggled up, and Allie’s sweet, but not that much into laps or snuggling with a sleeping human.
The dealership wasn’t a career path, just a chance to flesh out her resume. But she wanted to be the head honcho at her school for the last 2 years, knowing Suzanne was looking for another job. The stars finally aligned.
She made it here for supper, then she took her spawn home. Dishwasher is washing and we’re chilling. I’m beat.
Just found out that my daughter-in-law and her two girls have tested positive for Covid, so we won’t be seeing them this weekend.
The echo is done, and at least the technician didn’t gasp in horror at any point. Aside from that, I dunno.
During my last echo a few years ago, the tech pointed out that both sides of the heart contracting in synch was a good sign that there was no arterial blockage. Today’s tech wasn’t so chatty, but I was watching the screen and, to my layman’s eyes, the contractions looked good to me. So there’s that.
We shall see, I guess. Now I’m settling in to watch the Field of Dreams game, so don’t bother me.
sunny, Zorro will get used to the new rhythm. When I changed irk hours, Nelson adjusted faster than I did.
Pretty work shoe! It’s good to see you back to doing cross stitch.
Glad testing and procedures went well wet one, bright tree and wheelie.
bumba, I’m picturing that doggio’s handbasket looks something like this. (BTW, I’ve been on this one )
Irked, came home, took Nelson to the dog park where he got to play with a couple of puppies who were there for the first time. Roscoe was an adorable black and tan 5 month old mini dachshund and Emery a 4 month old beagle. Emery’s brother Blue (a mixed breed a little bigger than Nelson) rounded out the crew and a good time was had by all.
I made some vegetarian bimbimbap for supper with some leftover rice, kimchi, some julienned carrots, a couple of SSU aigs and chili sauce. Twas good.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Forgot to mention that my wife took a fall while we were out doing touristy things today. Bunged herself up pretty good. She does this periodically, but it’s been several years since the last one. She’s got Salonpas patches on her shoulder and elbow, but I don’t think anything is broken. Scary, nonetheless.
One of those weeks, as I mentioned a couple of days ago.
Evening all. did some gym stuff, then worked some puzzles and crosswords, went to soccer (4-5 year olds are adorable, but getting 30 of them to do something together…impossible) and then stopped at the gym for a little more work, then home to find I hadn’t defrosted the hamburger buns, so made a grilled cheese and put the hamburger in-between with tomato and pickles and it came out just fine. Evening will include putting the dishes away from the dishwasher.
shoe, nice stitching.
talkie, hope husband unit’s colon-check points to something minor.
flyboy, having a boss that wants to give you money is nice…I wonder what that feels like…
Cookie,
on not seeing some of the family. And best wishes to Wife-unit, hope she heals quickly.
Wheelie, glad the echo thingy went well. Hope you hear good news from the Doc soon.
OK, getting late so need to finish my internettin’ and unpack the dishwasher prior to bedtime. All y’all take care.
So I got a spreadsheet from Big Multinational. It looks like the revenue from new data contributors that I set up in FY 2021 was a shade over eight kilobucks. TBH, I’ve never given a thought to bonuses since I took over the Data Operations Manager position. Maybe I’ll get a couple/few hundred out of it.
Up from naptime.
Martini and Bo Chicken. Yep!
I miss sleeping with a beagle(Gordie doesn’t like furniture). I do not miss the sleep howling.
Yay?
YES!
(I do want another beagle when Gordie goes)

In Iowa, we call that a patty melt and we do it on purpose, so you just made yourself a Midwestern taste treat! Loose meat or maid rite sandwiches next!
Buddy’s latest antic: I was sitting at my desk in the living room doing some reading while I was settling in to do blood pressure check and meds (for some reason, I have it stuck in my head that I need to be seated for at least 5 minutes prior to BP check). Took three tries to get to the 5 minute mark, thanks to a certain orange cat persistently getting up on my desk and getting into things, which forced me to get up to put things out of paws’ or nose reach. Little nuisance.
Of course, several years ago when I was doing a bookkeeping certification course, Allie did the same thing to me when I was trying to do my homework.
next time use tuna that’s even better
Oh, god, he looks so comfy!
Man, I’ve had lots of jobs where I’ve been on my feet all day - heck, I logged miles a day when the dispensary was a-hoppin’ and we had long lines stretching across the vast parking lot.
But today is the first day, in my whole entire life that I can recall, where my ankles were well and truly swollen. Edema (boy, gotta be careful to spell that one correctly! one letter makes a helluva difference) but it’s never happened to me before!
Guess a pair of compression stockings are in my immediate future. Any other suggestions?

Any other suggestions
The same old boring ones: yes to compression hose (thank goodness they now come in more exciting patterns and colors), back off on salt intake (added to processed foods and fast foods is more the culprit and sneakier than what you get from the salt shaker), elevate your legs as often as you can (gravity rules) even for a few minutes during breaks at work, at home lay in the floor and prop your feet and legs up on a couch or chair. On days off go for a stroll around your block for 15 minutes to keep that excess pumping up and out of there.
It may be more because of the heat and humidity so fall may help too. Make sure your work shoes aren’t.too small or constricting.

4-5 year olds are adorable, but getting 30 of them to do something together…impossible
Just trying to imagine Roxy and her classmates trying to do a team sport together… You have more patience, and nerve, than I, sir! But I bet it was a hoot!

Loose
meat
I that what the rest of us call Sloppy Joes??

Any other suggestions?
Win the lottery? Get a Sugar Daddy? I got nuthin’…
I slept till 6! WOOHOO!! And temps at the moment are in the 60s! The next week, we’re forecast to be no higher than low 80 and possibly even touching 50s at night - I see windows open!
I think today will be some major house cleaning. FCD semi-woke, said his legs were really hurting, then rolled back over to sleep. I need to get him to call the pain management folks today - he keeps putting it off, all the while living in agony. Anyway, I don’t foresee boat work so I’ll (brace yourselves) dust and stuff today. What I really need to do is empty the dining room and shampoo the carpet, but that’s for another day. So Happy Homemaker I shall be!
I also need to gather all the stuff for painting tomorrow and get it loaded into the truck. I asked my daughter when she wanted to start - she said “early” - like 9:00! Um, that’s not early. SIX AM is early. Sheesh, I thought I taught that girl better. But that’s for tomorrow.
I made a blueberry coffee cake for dessert last night - actually just a plain, basic coffee cake with blueberries thrown in. It was good, but they all sank to the bottom Maybe I should have dumped in the batter, then put the berries on top? An experiment for another day.
For now, tho, chillage before major chorage begins.
Happy Firday!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 84 (well, BRR!) with heavy thunderstorms predicted for the day. Oh well, we have no where we need or want to go, so stayin’ inside and dry sounds like a good plan. Plus tstorms are fun to watch while day drinkin’. Much sloth and uselessness are in store. Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy.
Wheelie here’s hopin’ for good news from the doc on the echo thingy.
Cookie hope your dil and the youngun’s are over the plague soonest. Glad the spousal unit is OK and hope she’s not too sore/banged up today.
nettie sounds like Buddy is a for real full fledged house cat now. He does look all chillaxed in that pic.
MetalMouse my first thought was you made a patty melt. That’s always a good thing.
shoe listen to Nurse Boo re the edema.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah,
Happy Firday Y’all!

at home lay in the floor and prop your feet and legs up on a couch or chair
So simple, but I wouldn’t have thought of this one, so thank you!
I’m typing this lying on the floor (hi, Monkey!) trying not to drop my phone directly onto my nose.

asked my daughter when she wanted to start - she said “early” - like 9:00! Um, that’s not early. SIX AM is early
I’m with Daughter on this one. Besides, a 9 a.m. start means getting up EARLY-er to get dressed, brush teeth, etc.
Hell, it’s not even 7:30 a.m. here and I’m heartily contemplating going back to bed. Then again, I didn’t get home from work till around 1:30 a.m so I object to any accusations of excessive slothage.
… or I might just fall asleep on my living room floor with my feet propped up in my papasan. Not a dignified look (I’m in my birthday suit - my home is a designated “No Pants” Zone) but hey, I live alone.

I’m with Daughter on this one.
Pffft - you’re wrong! She’s up already, what with the kids, and SIL will be herding them, so she has no excuse! You need to rethink things…
Yeah, it’s almost 7:30, and I still haven’t done anything - shame on me!!! (she says as she starts the jigsaw puzzle app…)

You need to rethink things…
NO, and you can’t make me. { makes toddler-esque “Hmph!” face }
