I was petting roomie’s dog when I noticed the mole on her cheek behind her mouth. It has some longer hairs sticking out of it. It struck me that I’ve seen moles in the same location on many dogs of many breeds. What’s up with that?
It’s not a mole, it is a sensing organ where several wiskers converge.
My pug actually does have a few moles on either side of his face, though they do not contain whiskers as the mole you described does.
I don’t have a cite, but I’ve heard that when showing pugs - moles are actually a desireable feature and they add “value” to the quality of your pug.
