Don Juanna Is Here. It Must Be The MMP

No free shipping in Canada, Muppet?

I am full of grrrrrr this evening. But I’ve got to just keep going.

Nope. Plus it looks like they send everything through a customs broker, which in my experience means a $25 “processing” fee, plus whatever tariffs and penalties our customs service deems appropriate. In one case, we paid $40 in duty for a $15 item shipped by FedEx.

So much for free trade, huh?

(yeah, I know… free trade doesn’t apply at the individual consumer level, nor is it meant to facilitate cross-border shopping… but it’s a big pain in the ass to be essentially locked out of the all-you-can-eat buffet south of the border, especially when most Canadian retailers just can’t be bothered to set up online shopping)

MOOOOOOM maybe daughter can sleep in the house that’s up for sale. Some of the decor in there would no doubt scare the swine flu away.

I think Taz is wishin’ he had some marshmallows.

Soup and cheesey bread was (were?) good. Da bear is full and sleepfied now. OYKW is yawnin’ away too. Yeah, we’re party animals here!

Taz is now stretched out in front of the fireplace, basking in the warmth - he is one happy kitteh! Guess that means I won’t have a lapful of cat when I resume knitting.

Supper was leftovers. My spousal unit finished off the bean soup and I cooked some pasta and used up the last of the sketty sauce. I’m now stuffed. It’s warm enough in here that some ice cream would taste good. Wish I had some… :frowning:

I’ll be so glad when the VA gov race is over. It’s really dirty. Both sides are slinging all kinds of doo-doo thither and yon. I’m so glad I don’t live there any longer.

Well, off to knit some more. MWAH!!

Sorry about cousin’s SIL, Pie. That’s so sad.

Aquarium looks nifty, FCM.

In the paper this morning, they said winter should be warmer than normal here. That made me happy.

Stressful day at work. Big data issue in our real-life data on top of big projects that we’re working on. Tired. Off to buy rakes.

Back later.

GT

Pie, I’m sorry about your cousin’s SiL.

**FCM, **the tank stand looks like it’ll be very nice. I wish I was handy like that.

Our last cat would lie in front of the woodstove on his back, with his front and back legs all spread apart. He was a biiig cat and looked like a biiig floozy when he did that. It was funny as hell.

Alas, Mr. Peepers is no longer with us, and hasn’t enjoyed a toasty fire in several years now.

I don’t know what I’ll do about dinner. It’s just hubby and I tonight and I didn’t take anything out of the freezer.

That’s awful, Pie.

I am home after deciding that all that work will be there for me on Monday and why should I get all crazed about it, anyway? So, I left at 5, and missed the bus (it pulled away as I ran up to it. Grrr) and still had to take the later train.

But I am now home and await youth soccer in the morning, as well as cookie making and assorted other small domestic duties that actually sound like fun in a weird way. Yay for weekends!
Tis cold outside. Everyone downtown had scarves and hats. I think I need to find my winter coat. The leather fall one was not quite enough today. Stay warm, all!

Had a fire page tonight, for ‘a stove giving off sparks’. Mayberry was mutual aid for Hooterville on that one, and we were told to disregard before we ever got truck 1 out of our station. Oh well, at least it was 20 minutes of excitement for me…

Came right in the middle of Stargate Universe, too.

Sorry, Pie.

Yeah, livin’ it up on a Friday night. I just finished some mac and cheese and Mariner hot dogs from Costco. We’re into real fine dining, can’t you tell?

Firday Night Blurfs

Definitely a “blurfy” night. It’s raining cats and dogs, hubby is so wiped out he already went to bed, and I’m bored, bored, bored.

I’d go to bed too, but I’m waiting up to see if my son will need a ride home from work. He doesn’t get off until 9:00. He already posted on FB and texted me that he’s soaking wet because he’s been on car-hop duty at Sonic. I’m hoping and he and my daughter will get off work at the same time so she can pick him up.

Maybe I’ll watch a little boob tube, I dunno.

Someone tore the sink off the wall in the store bathroom tonight. [Clerks]This job would be great if it wasn’t for the fucking customers[/Clerks]. At least I have beer and Bachelor Food. A bunch of friends from the Booster Club were on the radio today, they even got free Mickey D’s for breakfast.

Pie, I’m sorry about your cousin’s SiL. :frowning:

FCM, nice stand. Lucretia used to set herself on fire.

Hey, is this sink a dollar?
I am still up–that in itself is a minor miracle. I need to get some beauty sleep. Believe me, I truly NEED some beauty sleep. I spent the evening catching up with a good friend. She’s getting a bit woo-woo on me. Kept talking about my place in the universe. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that my place in the universe is right next to the fresh, hot chocolate chip cookies (with walnuts or pecans) and icy cold milk.
Soccer tomorrow!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN I’d say TGIS but that does not have quite the ring of TGIF does it?

Can I claim my place in the universe next to the ice cold keg and the extra cheesey, spicy nachos?

'Tis brrrrrrrrrr a little bit out. It’s only 50 degrees Amurrkin and only supposed to get up to a high of 65! Will there be an iceberg in the pool?

Ok, need to go feed rumbly tummy, partake of more caffiene and purtify for work.

Happy Saturday Y’all!

The critters spent the night in the family room, and I know why. When I came out here, the fireplace insert was still quite warm to the touch, and there were glowing red embers inside. Our bedroom, on the other hand, was chilled. Unrelated to that, I was having a coughing fit and I didn’t want to wake my sweetie, so I brushed my teeth and joined the zoo. Bernie’s been out, Scruffy’s a wuss, and I’m about to start caffeinating.

When SIL gets home from work, probably one-ish, the three of us will head to Baltimore for my sister’s work anniversary party. Hard to believe she’s been tending that bar part time and full time for 25 years! I boiled a couple dozen eggs last night, and before we head out, I’ll start the deviled egg process. The filling will be loaded into a plastic bag so when we get there, I can clip a corner of the bag and squeeze the goodness into the egg halves. I should probably take a little paprika, too.

There’s a funky odor in our bedroom, and I suspect Taz may be responsible. It’s not exactly a urine smell, but it’s definitely not right. We can’t locate the source because it seems strong in different parts of the room. I’m thinking the first step should be to launder the bedspread, since that’s his favorite alternate litterbox. If it persists, well, I dunno - empty the room and sniff everything as we put it back in?? Stoopit cat.

doggio, when I first read your sink comment, I skimmed too fast, and I wondered how the heck your menagerie could have torn your bathroom sink off the wall… It made more sense on the second reading.

BBBobbio, we were watching SGU. I thought it was pretty stupid myself. Then again, I find I am unable to suspend disbelief for most sci-fi, especially when the engineer has that accent. Because in the future, no one else but a Scotsman will be qualified to run engineering on a spacecraft. **FCD **hates watching sci-fi with me - I tend to snark ever-so-slightly…

Still raining, still dark. Happy Saturday!

I’m hungry! What’s for breakfast?

I had a nanner muffin and a diet coke. yum…

Oatmeal with dried blueberries and yogurt, toasted English muffin, tea.

That sink story is…scary, doggio.

My place in the universe is right here on the couch, knitting. And soon, it’s going to change to being in my car on the way to the park to get ready for Halloween…

GT

Up, caffeinated, off to work. Gonna watch the Canes game with the Booster Club tonight.

Pie, just coffee this morning.

FCM, I wouldn’t put it past Gordie to do something like that.

Here breakfast was toasted chipotle cheese cornbread and yogurt with honey. And tea.

And today is Quasi-Daughter’s birthday celebration, so I think we’re off to someone’s house fr pancakes. That’s what she wants for her birthday. Pancakes.

My son is truly, really, his father’s son. He’s a Doctor Who addict. He stands in front of the computer saying, “Doctor? Doctor? Tardis?”

Nat slept through the night. Okay, he still woke up at 5:30, but we’re working on that. Mostly by cruel abandonment.
