Sometime ago I was sent a scan of a cartoon in which Donald Duck was captured by bad guys. They proceed to tease and taunt him, until the head bad guy insults Donald’s mother, at which point Donald goes mad and defeats them all. Any idea if this was real or just some kind of odd dream?
I’m pretty much the go-to guy as far as Disney cartoons go and I’m not aware of any Donald Duck cartoon with this plot.
Donald was known for his explosive temper, but the notion of a mother insult in a Disney cartoon doesn’t ring true.
In Disney terms, “Your mother is still alive and is enjoying her retirement!” is probably pretty deadly.
My favorite is the comic where Goofy accidentally hits Donald with his fishing pole, so Donald responds by tying Goofy to an anchor, pushing him off the dock and drowning to death, and then walks away laughing. Revenge murder is HILARIOUS!
There was a Scrooge McDuck comic story where this happened, in one of the episodes of the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, which tells the story of how he got all his money.

Donald Duck was a very different character from cartoon to comic. His rage is mostly part of the cartoons, and always ended up turning back on him. He might go into a rage while holding a garden hose, and come out of it tied up in knots. So … basically a good message, while at the same time pretty funny.
(By the way, Donald only thought Goofy was dead in that comic. Goofy was actually rescued by Junior Woodchucks and swore tedious revenge against Donald and his girlfriend, Jennifer Love Smewitt.)
That is a VERY badass Scrooge McDuck. I love him all the more now
