Woo-hoo! Just heard from the shop–my computer is ready!
The bad news: the old computer is totally shot, and data could not be recovered. Oh well.

Bumped to say that this is my first post from my new computer. Working well so far; the only hitch has been a forgotten password for a favourite web site, but that’s easily recoverable. Other than that, I am very happy!

Happy Labor Day! (Where the hell did the bumpin’ summer go?)
The bumpin’ summer went where everything else has gone this year: into the dumper. Oh, it was hot and pleasant, but without all the local festivals and events held annually, it just didn’t feel like summer.
