For the last week or two, every time I wander into ATMB there’s a thread that had died weeks ago back at the top of the list. “Oh, did something interesting happen?” I wonder as I click on it. No, it’s just BigT, finally ready to share his opinion on the topic with all of us after weeks of contemplation:

Pointless bump after 16 days
Pointless bump after 36 days
Pointless bump after 60 days

And just now:
Pointless bump after 42 days

These would all be fine if he actually had something profound to say, but it’s BigT so obviously that hasn’t happened. BigT, you are the worst. I think that from now on, we’d be a lot better if every time you’re considering posting something, instead do the following:

1. Sit down and write out what you’re going to say on a piece of paper.
2. There is no second step.

You’ll note that nowhere in my OP did I suggest that what you were doing was against the rules, just that it’s super annoying. Hence, Pit thread.

As for making sure your opinion gets heard, (a) your opinions all suck, for the most part and (b) how about you get around to posting them when the discussion is actually happening and not two months later? They’ll still be terrible, but at least they’ll be timely.

It’s not just in ATMB; a couple weeks ago I got ticked off at him for bringing back the “lifeguards let a kid die!!1” thread after it had been zombiefied and then lain dormant for a month, with a post that added no new info. I assumed he had nothing better to do than skim through old posts and dump a little outrage and/or pedantry into each.

Maybe he’s the in-board equivalent of those people who Google random shit, see an old thread here, then post their outrage.

(And yes, regular posters have been warned before about pulling that stunt for shits and giggles.)
